Not bone stock. Allegedly had Mickey D/Rs and using race gas(?) on those passes, there was also mention of a tune.

If it was bone stock then I'll place him in the 1% that I mentioned in my original post.

I think he was being sarcastic. The Demon forum is full of reports and slips in the 10's...and most of them are happy with that.

The car COMES with slicks, and a factory tune for race gas. Dodge never made the claim that it ran 9s on pump gas.....in fact it was very clear it needed several conditions to achieve the time......bigs/Little’s/slick package, race gas, race gas tune etc.

I’ve done my share of hating on the demon for its “over promising”.....but have pulled back my criticism as it seems you can get one in the 9s without aftermarket modification. That checks the box for me even if it’s a few 1/10th off their hero pass. I was originally clowning because they were running low 11s and high 10s at many of the early media events.

I missed the sarcasm.

I'd be happy with 10's as well. It's not like GM and Ford don't do the same thing.

99% of ZL1 owners will never run a bone stock 11.4 either, especially with an M6.

Not a Demon, but just came across this video. If the title is correct, the outcome is surprising to me

Slicks and drag radials are two different things. The Demon comes with Nitto drag radials. That 9.9x run was with different wheels and Mickey ET Street R radials

They said it would run 9.9 without the crate.

The 9.9 would be it's fastest production time. Sure, the crate is a thing but that is not as produced. The skinnies don't even come with tires lol.

It’s very much all in the driver though. Your average driver who just knows how to buy the car will have no idea how to pilot a car like a Demon to max potential.
Gotta disagree with this statement. At my track the Hellcat guys all are on a tire and they consistently pull low 11s to high 10s. The only time they are out of range is if they miss a shift...which I have yet to see happen. Maybe on the stock tire they have these inconsistency issues. But I have yet to see a HC at the track on the stock tire.

The car just came out. Give it time. Remember what our ZL1 fast list looked like early last year? You gotta give people time to get these cars, get thru the break-in period, get to the tracks a few times, and then see what they do. It isn't like they were just released today and next week they'll all be in the 10s and 9s. Once people have seat time and get used to the car I am sure we'll be seeing some really fast time slips.

10.01 is 10's but then so is 10.99.
100 octane unleaded is epa certified thus NOT considered race gas.

I've seen the car run a 6.39 in the eighth. Better atmospheric conditions would have likely been a high 9 pass.
Suck it up and accept it.

100 octane is not readily available at the pump in most areas. Even Sunoco who makes the fuel considers their unleaded high octane fuels “race fuels”. Your “EPA certified” statement is unverified. Here is a web address to check for verification: www.sunocoracefuels.com

You can buy it at the pump in California and if you can buy it there it will pass all emissions. After all, California is "special".
