2023 Z06-Impressed or not?
Estimated 0-60 2.6 and the qtr in 10.5. I'm sure it puts the power down great and would kick my ZL1 all over a road course, but 1/2 mile??
My former C5 Z with 620 hp did 156 in the 1/2 mile and weighed right at 3100 pounds, so a 3700lb, 670hp Z will run 160ish??? The C8 hasn't quite grown on me yet, but the promo with Amelia and D Book was pretty impressive. How impressed are you? |

Not impressed at all, from a total package p.o.v.
Honestly, I love the new engine, as I've always been drawn to NA vs SC (or turbolol) but the design of the C8 precludes me from ever partaking. For how it looks it's just another wannabe euro-car, and if that's your jam then cool. For my dollars though I'd rather get a C7 ZR1 or ACR-E Viper. |

I like it. I'd say pretty awesome for naturally aspirated. Cant wait to see how GM tops this Z06 with the ZR1. Now if only someone would buy my ZLE for $70k so i can buy this Z06...!

Massively impressed. Original rumors were around 620hp which I thought was meh...but 670hp is AMAZING. That car is going to fly.

Not a fan of the C8 design but, really like that engine.

Depends on final curb weight and price of the Z07 optioned setup with Carbon Fiber wheels, but ill venture to say that the curb weight will be 3600+ easy. Dry weight at the lightest / fully carbon spec'd is 3434 so figure another 150-180lbs for fluids and such. As such, if GM is wanting $150k for the car with those options, I would laugh all the way out the door. Its neat looking to a degree but simply not worth the money they are asking. $150k would see me sitting in a Porsche 911 GT3 all day over an overpriced vette.
Also, the unfortunate reality is that for folks who do want to shell out the dough for it, not many will be able to buy one without a seriously exorbitant ADM upcharge. I refuse to pay greedy dealers ADM even though I could afford it, so thats the game ender for me. When the twin turbo ZR1 comes out, that could be a serious consideration but the fact is the ADM dealer r*pe is going to be awful on those even more so. Looking forward though to the C8 coming down in price to what its actually worth, 60-65k and humbling the idiots who shelled out an ADM'd 100k+ for a base model vette lol. |

Absolutely impressed! I'm on 4 different dealer lists, but I'm WAY down the list so realistically I'm not gonna be able to get one for 2-3 years......I'm all over the Corvette forums and in one case a dealer quoted a $100k markup so these things are gonna be crazy expensive.
The regular C8 with stock wheels doesn't look great to me, but when you put the right wheel on I think it looks awesome. The Z06 seems to fix those aesthetic issues and looks fantastic to me. LOVE my ZLE but I'd replace it in a heartbeat with the Z06. |

Also, its 670 hp output is mostly thanks to the 8400 rpm redline, I'm sure it has much less torque down low and even overall. Again, a very respectable high rpm for a GM engine, but this isn't particularly special and neither are the looks. Maybe the price will be low enough to make the entire package attractive, once it actually becomes available.

It's impressive, but not a car that fits my personality. I am glad GM's doing it though.
