May have to give her up :-(

Managed to destroy my ankle this past August and will not be able to drive my Z1E manual till at least next August. What would you do?
1) Keep it in storage till next August (it would be in storage any way from Dec to April and I love the car)
2) Trade it in for an A10 ( I hear the A10 is as much fun)
3) Sell it to dealer or someone else and get another one later when I can drive a manual again (my dealer called out of the blue this morning saying they wanted to buy it)

Sell to dealer now while gettin' is good, you know for fact you won't be able to drive it until April (if extremely lucky). Order for a new A10 if can or wait till April, hopefully used prices drop and can pick up an A10.

The A10 is phenomenal. The best transmission I've ever experienced. It shifts faster than anything out there. It knows what gear you want, coming out of a corner. It will hold the revs up while you turn in and apex, and then selects the proper gear to rocket out of the corner. I don't care if you had a dog-ring, sequential, racing manual, or a Lenco, or whatever, nothing that I've ever experienced is better than that GM-A10.

4) amputate your leg below the knee and have a rod installed to push the clutch.

What do you mean by "GM-DCT-A10"? Never heard that one before. Did the dealer tell you it was a DCT?

The dealer didn't tell me anything. The DCT part was my mistake.

I recently did the same thing. You will probably be able to drive a stick in about 2.5 months. I was not able to use my car for about a month and a 1/2 as I couldn’t get the door open wide enough to get my foot in the car with the boot on. The door would hit the wall. My ankle still hurts to walk but I know it would not bother me to drive a stick. I tore my ankle up 4 of July and they said about a year to fully recover.

I would keep it especially if you prefer the manual. You will heal.

I'd keep it, too. It's a very special car and eventually you will be able to drive it again.

If you really-really want the A10, sell now and wait till prices drop a little with supply picking up.

Injuries are my reasoning behind ditching manuals. Autos might not be as much fun as a stick but at least you can drive the car with a sore right arm or left leg.
My vote is for you to sell and replace with the A10. The best auto I ever driven

Broke my fibula/ left clutch leg in December of last year, motorcycle accident, didn't scratch the bike or myself, just kicked a pit bull at 40 mph. By the following March I would use my right leg to operate the gas, brake and clutch, tried it on my LS chevelle 1st, give your self a little distance on back roads and stop signs, but it can be done and put a smile on your face ! Save the manuals ! Keep it, have a family member fire it up every 2 weeks, then in 2 months maybe 3 give it a try.
