Do you have any suggestions on something LED or brighter than stock? Looking to black out the taillights to match the rest but want decent visibility.

I have a friend who has a set of those, and he says they aren't very bright at all. He is going to reinstall his Technostalgia's he has, like mine. Love them, but they are expensive, and I think only Rick's Camaros / Ecklers sells them anymore.

I was thinking of the dark out covers from Phasetech and the XP80 red LED’s they offer.

With the darker RS housings, I just replaced the halogens with these:

Kind of expensive, but easily 3x brighter then stock.
If you go for dark tinted taillights, these should shine right through just fine.

Leave the red lenses, you need the contrast, IMHO.

Thanks all. Looks like the black out overlays and LED’s for the win.

My tails are sprayed with a mixture of 8 parts GM black and 2 parts clear. They are pretty black and my tails shine through perfectly even in daylight. Never even thought to put brighter bulbs. I may be cutting mine open soon to do the afterburners so maybe Ill look into some LEDS at that point. I dont think the LEDS will play well with my sequential tail harness tho

Do they light up the lense evenly like the eom bulb or is there a bright spot where the led bulb is?
