ZL1 A10 over a C7 ZO6 if it’s your only ride. I own both. C7Z M7 is somewhere around 1000whp.

Long story short Retired a few years ago. Had a 2016 C7 Z51 and traded for a 2018 ZL1. Fast forward, C8 about to come out and my preferred dealer had 30+ C7''s. Got a hell of a deal on a new 2019 C7 Grand Sport, below Employee Pricing and could use GM Mastercard points and traded the ZL1.

In February we ordered a 2021 Camaro 2SS 1LE. Well, we all know how that worked out. Still not here as of today. Tired of using my C7 as a DD. So I got a Silverado in late May. Was at my dealer last week and a new gray Tahoe RST was being unloaded. Looked really sharp. Told my wife about it. We both went up there the same day and before we got out of the car she said I want the Tahoe. Talked to the manager about that instead of the Camaro, he said no biggie, I can sell the ordered Camaro in a second. It is "In Transit" and he said he was getting 3 to 4 calls a day about it.

So my stupid question/dilemma is my C7 will be out of warranty next year. If given the opportunity would you rather have a C7 or new 2022 ZL1? Now I get I have had both. I love my C7 but I also loved my ZL1. I really miss the supercharger sound. Right now I can sell/trade the C7 for a little more than I paid. I can't get a C8 for at least 18-24 months (I will not pay the BS $20-$30K mark-up), but I do not want to wait another 8-9 months for a ordered Camaro again. The 2SS 1LE was going to be my wife's car so if I got a Camaro for me it would be a ZL1 again. UGH, on the fence, just looking for opinions, advice, help and some smart ass comments. Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on the Tahoe RST, that is a really sweet ride.

First off, I'd rank the GM cars in the following order:

C7 ZR1, C8 Stingray, C7 Z06, ZL1, C7 GS, SS 1LE.

Not particularly in performance, just my opinion. In your situation, I'd place an order for a C8 and enjoy the C7 GS + Tahoe until it comes in. You give up some things going from the C7 GS to the ZL1 and vice versa. The ZL1 does some things better than the C7 GS. However, they probably both accomplish the same thing for you. Financially, it makes sense to liquidate the C7 GS now and sit tight until your new car(s) come in.

Your order times are a little bit generous. I haven't had anyone wait 9 months for a Camaro or 18-24 months for a C8. Certainly possible depending on allocations and factory shutdowns though. Don't be afraid to reach out to dealers outside your area.

If you’re a vette guy, buy a vette, & vice versa.

Z06 & ZL1 are close to the same straight-line performance that if you like a Camaro better you won’t miss the difference, or could add some bolt-ons to fill the gap.

If you already own a Members only jacket, thick gold necklace & a set of white New Balance tennies, then there’s only one clear choice.

The Camaro has a reputation of being owned by trailer park trash wearing a wife beater. Needless to say neither reputation is true. I've owned several Corvettes, I'm middle aged, 46, no Members Only jacket, no gold necklace, and no white New Balance shoes.

That was back in 2019.

I had a H/C/I/E C7 and loved it. I sold it and bought the ZL1 A10 and I do not regret it one bit. I also like having 4 seats to. They are both great cars but I enjoy driving the ZL much more. Good luck

I've went from a C7 Grand Sport to my current ZLE and glad I did. I test drove a C7 Z06 prior and thought I was content with the power from the GS but was always wishing I went with the Z06 LT4. After just casually going in to look at a local ZLE and test driving it..hearing that whine and having all that extra power I knew I had to have it. Made the deal and took it home the very same day.

I feel that the camaro seems to be abit more roomy compared to the C7 and also less of a hassle to get out of than the vette. Also find that the A10 trans seems much smoother and more responsive than the A8.

Same age as myself then. Kudos to you, no seriously.

It’s a joke. Don’t take yourself so seriously you can’t see the humor. Then again, we’re too young for that stereotype. I don’t need Viagra, as I’m sure you don’t.

My FiL has a c6 & loves wearing wife beaters. Then again he has a Challenger & probably needs Viagra, so there is that.

He really liked my ZL1, so he’s not all bad.

Add: All the shoes I have are New Balance, not white, but the loafers are sooo damn comfortable. LOL

Nice ! I retired at 50 last year ! Back to the subject, get what you want, the ZL1's were a steal for the performance.

I was in the same situation a few months ago - undecided between the C7 anf the ZL1 - and I went with the ZL1. Didn't regret my decision. For me the ZL1 is the best sport car on the planet - especially considering the price.

Thumbs up

Very difficult decision:
-The Corvette Grand Sport has been mentioned by MT as the best handling C7 Corvette. Same MT has reviewed the C7 Z06 considering that chassis/suspension as untrusted and hazardous with that SC power.
-Also MT has mentioned that the best handling GM Chassis is the "Alpha" platform of the 6th gen Camaro
-C7 Z06 had Engine overheating issues. My C7 Z51 overheated the A6 transmission at the track.
-The Transmissions (A10 and 6MT) that you find on the Camaro are more accurate and precise than the (A6, A8 & 7MT) on the C7 Corvette. With the 7MT while driving you would easily miss a shift. The A8 is a very problematic transmission and the A6 overheats at the track.
-The close to the floor driving feeling on the Corvette C7 feels amazing.
-Esthetically the Corvette Exterior and interior design looks more appealing, more exotic. The non ZL1 Camaro and Mustangs are very more common to see them on the street.
-The same Exhaust on both cars sounds better, more aggressive on the Camaro.
-On a quick lane change, the Corvette feels instantaneous and the Camaro feels heavier in the back.
-Amazing power and sound of the SC compared to the NA engine.

-My N.A. C7 Z51 felt as fast as my 5th Gen SC ZL1 because it was lighter
-The reliability of my 6th gen Camaro SS has been way better compared to my unreliable prior C7 Corvette Z51.
On equal price, you get more for your money with the SC ZL1 compared to the NA GS.
Also the individual question is If the 650 HP is much power to take advantage on the street or its to much for DD?

This decision for me in this order of preference:
1. Camaro ZL1 (non 1LE, because its 1LE Suspension option is very rough for street driving, better for track usage. )
2. Corvette Grand Sport
3. Camaro SS1LE
4. Camaro SS
