Installed/tuned price for a 2.9 Whipple
Or a Maggie.
What is everyone seeing for an installed price on the Whipple 2.9 or a Maggie? If you were going to use one of the high end names in the market, who would you go with? I have got a couple of estimates locally, and while the install isnt hard and I could handle it the tuning side is what concerns me. While our locals seem to do a good job, the tuning is what really can make or break the setup from what I have seen. Anyone care to share what setup they have and how much it cost to get to turn key? |

The closest shop to me is Lingenfelter. They want 10,900.00 for a Maggie installed and dyno tuned. Package includes with a detail, alignment, and full tank of gas.

I think you can get into a Maggie for way under that. Would you consider starting out with a handheld tuner especially if your concerned about the tune.

I am not really into a handheld tuner. I had one (Diablo Sport) years ago for my 2001 Formula Firebird. Ran it thinking it was doing the job, then one day my local shop put me on a dyno and we dyno'd the car with the calibration from the Diablo Sport handheld. Then we pulled the tune and put the oem tune back in the car. Then he did a quick tune for me on the car.
The OEM tune and the canned Diablosports tune was the same on the dyno, his custom tune picked up an additional 15rwhp on the car. So since then I've had a bad taste in my mouth in regards to hand held tuners. |

I got a quote from Vengeance and am waiting on one from Livernois as well. I am going to check with the local shops and get a couple from them.
The shop that builds the Fireball Camaro is local to me, but those are Procharger setups. My local guy I have used wants to put me into a Whipple and will give me a small discount on one and while I know they can handle the install the perfectionist in me wants the best tune/tuner possible once I pull the trigger for the supercharger tune. |

For just install and tune your probably at 2k - 2500 depending on rates plus blower so 9k - 10k for a whipple.
