Traction control lights

Hey guys... The other day we went to start our 2010 Camaro SS and it had a hard time starting. On the second attempt, the 'Traction Off light, Traction Control System/ StabillTrak light and the Traction Control System TCS Off lights lit up and stayed on till the car was shut off. It restarted later with no problem. Manual says to take it to the dealer. Any ideas? Could a bad or failing battery cause this?

Thanks for your comments!

I've seen this with others who's battery needed replacement.

If no previous problems then the battery is going. These cars get funny with low voltage

This^. Have the battery tested for resting voltage and under load. Betting replacement is in your future. Common issues for a failing battery.

Yes this ^^^^. Earlier this year started getting the "service stabilitrak" messages. After a new battery (6 years old) no more messages.

Yea, I am dealing with the same thing lately.

Stabilitrak light on start is almost always a sign of a weak battery. You can also get some other weird side-effects.

The other day my battery weakened enough while sitting in my car watching a movie during my lunch break at work. Not only did I get the Stabilitrak warning, I also had to re-index my windows, and it re-programmed my damn key fob to my car! Now it says I have all 5 fobs programmed, which is the limit.

Thank god I know how to completely reset the counter. I will do that soon so it only recognizes my 3 actual fobs/keys.

Eventually I will get a new battery, but funds are low right now. I keep my jump-starter in my trunk for issues like this.

I also had this including one no start, the Stabilitrak warning, Open Close Windows, lights kept popping up and even though the old battery seemed good, a new battery cured it.

When replacing battery would it help to connect a power supply to the under hood lugs to prevent having to program windows, stereo settings etc?

No need, I changed out my battery last month in the AutoZone parking lot and didn't lose any memory settings or have to re-index the windows.

OP: Agree with the others who have said it's most likely the battery, had the same issues last month, swapped in a new battery, no more issues.
