Get 2018 or wait for 2019
Hi all,
2019s will be in stock by August '18. If you had a choice, would you buy a '18 model year right now or wait a few months for 2019? I like the interior changes for the '19 (RMC, radio) but am iffy about the front-end. |

I’d wait for the 19. It’s a nice fresh, new look with new features.

Looks good A10 2018-16 values will drop like a rock now. Maybe get a 2017-18 after they do |

I have been thinking of upgrading to a Gen 6 Camaro SS in about a year but Im not sold on the looks of the refresh. Before features/new tech the first thing that grabs your attention IS the look of any car. I might not be willing to spend thousands on something that may have to "grow" on me in a few months before a purchase. If I do decide to upgrade soon it would be a 2018 model. It already looks great and might be cheaper once dealers decide to make room for the refresh on their lots.

Given the very polarizing looks of the '19's, the decision should be pretty straightforward. Since you asked what would we do, I'll answer in that context. I'm a huge fan of the V8 with the manual transmission and think the new front end looks on the SS are not nearly as nice as the '17-'18's. So no-brainer for me. If I were interested in an automatic, the '19 SS's A10, would make me consider it. For a non-SS, the looks are less controversial and price/depreciation issues would factor in more. In any case you'll have a Gen6, and that's a real nice thing in any form.

Wait, check out the 2019s, then decide. If I wanted an auto, I'd seriously consider one.
If you don't like it, you can always get the 2018 at a discount. |

You’re not going to get a lot of positive feedback about the 19+ based purely upon its looks so, I would side step that conversation. Assuming you’re asking about getting a 19+, you are likely ok with how it looks and therefore, the discussion should be about the features and tech.
Do you want an automatic or not? That in of itself should help to make your decision for you. If you want an automatic, getting the 10 speed in the 19+ is a no-brainer. If you’re getting a manual, wait for the 19’s to get released, hang on until the end of the year, and pick up a year end clearance 18.

Only go 19' if you are buying an SS with an automatic transmission.
Otherwise, save $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and get a 2018 as soon as they take the big "outdated model" hit.

Too late, the rock has already fallen. While the CA6 is a better Camaro than the 5th gen, the 5th gens held their value better.

Wait until the ‘19’s come out, then buy an ‘18 at a steep discount

I am contemplating the exact same thing right now. I am waiting to see the 19 in person before making that call.
