Exorcist Camaro
I am seriously considering buying a brand new Hennessy Exorcist Camaro. I have a couple questions if any of you guys can answer them.
1- Are there any Exorcist owners here? If so, what's been your experience with the car? 2- Has anyone ever verified the hp with a dyno? 3- Do they use the stock oil pump or is it upgraded? Thanks in advance. Very difficult choice between The Exorcist or a 2022 ZO6. But that's pretty much where I'm at with my choices narrowed down.

As many will tell you, you can get more for less from other shops.
With Hennessy's rep as a shyster, I wouldn't deal with him. |

Mine is an 850, not an Exorcist. The car has no problems and the only issue I have with them is their reluctance to disclose the parts, cam specs, etc. they use. Perhaps this is understandable.
As far as I can tell, I'm the only person with a Hennessey car at this site who's willing to admit it due to rumors about supposed problems in the distant past. You can look forward to some negative posts. HPE uses a Dynojet and the old STD correction factor but advertises crankshaft HP as does KaTech and others. They will probably let you watch the chassis dyno if you want. Their website has the details of the Exorcist package.

I would only go there if you want the brand name. In terms of performance, I agree that you can get the same for less $$$ elsewhere.
But now that the Resurrection is out, maybe you can get a discount? :p |

I purchased some wheels a few months back from a guy that went to Hennessey for training & claimed that they would detune the car some after they made a dyno pass & would give the customer the higher dyno sheet. I could believe it because there is a local guy here that has their 850 package & dyno locally at 6 something

I believe I've seen someone here post that they own an Exorcist and I thought he posted dyno results and it doesn't live up to 1000hp as advertised. Based on the whp posted, it would have been around 950hp. The issue I think most have with Hennessey is that the price is ridiculous and they don't work with you to do any other modifications other than their package. They had a bad reputation many many years ago that a lot of people online won't let go. Apparently the rest of the world has though because they're still in business.

Because they spend tons of money to make up for what John Hennessy did and people flock to them as if they are a great shop.
Overpriced and I'd go somewhere else. And I'd really like to know if their warranty of parts is legit. As in if they replace the engine if it blows up or trans if it fails. It sounds like they are still up to their shady tactics if they really do detune their vehicles after promising xxxx HP. If they are a good business now then great but there are plenty of other shops to look at. |

Advertising sells..... Plus people like the warranty that they pay basically 10k for.

First of all, I agree 100% that you can get more for your money elsewhere as well as enjoy and be a part of the build process. I have zero affiliation with Vengeance Racing however, I have had a 14 2SS 1LE done there and my 19 ZL1 is scheduled for later this year. I also have 2 family members who have had extensive builds done by them and the customer service and quality of work are second to none. IMHO If I had the money for an Exorcist I would buy a new ZL1 or Vette and ship it directly to them and have it built. If i wanted to play Devil's Advocate the only reason I could see buying the Hennessy would be the name and possible resale value.

To the Op, if you really want a Hennessy Exorcist Camaro then buy one! That’s my advice to get what you want!

More for your money with Vengeance. Not only in terms of parts, labor and results. I mean also customer service and support after the build. I am not really sure that you are paying for a “name” with those other guys either, Vengeance has an outstanding reputation in the enthusiast community.
