How can I 100% verify my 2017 SS is a Fifty?

Subject.

Bought my 17 SS back in DEC20, CPO. As I'm looking at other Fifties online, I'm seeing lots of various attributes that my SS doesn't have. However, I do have the 'Fifty' on the bottom of the steering wheel. Seller even mentioned "...and, it's a Fifty".

...did I get swindled? Did someone R2 the steering wheel with a Fifty's, or just slap a Fifty decal on it? Is there a way I can 100% verify that my SS is a 50? Maybe using the VIN? Would I have to contact Chevy? I'm stay-up-all-night-and-research curious about this now...

I think all 2017s have the badge on the steering wheel, but for a Camaro to be a true F1FTY it had to have a specific package ordered, it was option H50, I think. So no, you didn't get swindled, but your car isn't a true 50th anniversary edition, it's "only" a 2017.

EDIT: yes, it was H50, see details here: https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/chev...rsary-edition/

Dang. I mean, I love the hell out'a my SS, so no HUGE skin off my back. Just kinda sucks it was 'sold' to me as a 5O and I didn't have enough experience to know better; so I've been parading her around all "yeah, and she's a Fifty". Guess no one else knew either, lol. Oh well, now I know.

Now to dig into specs for comparison - I'm hoping all the engine/drive/trans/etc and specs are the same. I can deal without cosmetics (I'm adding those myself), but if I find out the 5O has 5O more HP........

Was this a dealer you purchased from? if so you "could" maybe have legal standing for a civil suit. If they advertised it and sold it to you as a FIFTY and it wasn't then I would think you have a case. I mean not no million dollar case but something if the dealer was doing fraud.

if it was an option package shouldn't you be able to enter the vin on the monroney website to get the original window sticker and will show it?
it's $7.99 to get one. we bought it when we bought our 2020 just to make sure the dealer was up front with the options as an out of state buyer.
best money we spent pre-purchase.

What color is your car? All 2017 Camaros came with the Fifty logo on the bottom of the steering wheel.

Here's a link to details on the 50th Anniversary Camaro:

You as I have a 50th Commemorative Edition Camaro, not a 50th anniversary. That being said I think ours look better than the 50th Anniversary because those wheels are just ugly.

To the Op, send an email to socialmedia@gm.com with your VIN and ask for a build sheet for your 2017. The build sheet will give you the options, etc on your Camaro and you can check if it was equipped with the 50th anniversary option when built.

This explains the H50 option. As mentioned, no performance difference than any other 2LT (V6) or 2SS (V8) Camaro. There were also a few 2.0T versions that had same performance as any other 2.0T.
