wow.. so a cop can just walk over to me in my yard while I'm minding my own business, put cuffs on me and hold me for 48 hours?

What kind of country is this?

Ya know if you look at speeding citations it actually has a box "license shown in leui of bail" or something to that effect. MEANING.. you are TECHNICALLY being detained/arrested when you're pulled over for even speeding.

All that aside, I don't think I could have been all smiles and polite about the situation. I would be COMPLIANT.. but I would be very angry about it and would ask more than one officer for an explanation at the earliest opportunity.

That sucks Chris, I'm sorry. But on another note, did your seat have the molded section so you weren't sitting on your hands? Be honest, how comfy was it?

you wanna charge me for speeding or wreckless driving for changing lanes like that fine whatever.. but being detained without being charged sounds like a violation of your rights to me.

not to mention.. telling the boss that I am late because I was ARRESTED won't look good on my record.
Nah, I think there was a combination of things that made it difficult.. based on the radio calls I heard, this JUST happened... So, I'm thinking they were all acting on partial information. They never treated me bad... they were simply being very safe and cautious..

I had no problems at all.

Just wanted to tell a funny story.

We'd have never got to the story if I had to guess.

I would pay MONEY to have that on video.
thanks "buddy"....

No need to upset... I was pretty sure they would figure it out... at least I was hoping.

GTA, all of that could have been avoided if you had your registration in hand and ready before she got to the car. Never wait for them to ask before you go for it.
You could be right... but I've also been told that reaching for the glove box while the officer approaches can be a no no ...

Please lets not bash the cops... They did everything right..

I really just wanted you guys to have a laugh.

Oh DUDE!!! it was so clean back there. and the seat was just a bench... plastic bench like in a handicap bath tub????

and no... mine didn't have the molded section for my hands...

But I do have to confess... I do remember thinking.. "how cool is this!!!!"

for just a split second.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it would be another thread about PQ. How he got rickrolled, ran out of gas, etc.

Sounds like you had an eventful morning, Chris!
