Becky silly question, I'm sure. As it appears that I'm waiting for a VIN (thanks to you) to be assigned. Is that something that Chevrolet provides to its customers when it is assigned or do we have to know someone like you to go out of their way to help poor slobs like us? I know I'm not going to get it from the Chevrolet Tracking Web interface...I've never gotten anything from that site. The dealership...never has any information...everything I find out is from you!

Chevrolet does not provide the VIN to the customer. Your dealer has access to the same info Becky has.

Thanks laborsmith...I don't know about you....I've yet to get an actual build status from the dealer. Probably to busy making stingray sales. Lord knows I've tried....

amen..it is insane that Becky is working so hard for you, and your dealer is getting off scott free from doing his job. Try this:

Take a meeting with the sales manager of your dealership and say something like this:

"I consider being updated on a regular basis prior to delivery to be part of the overall buying experience of buying from you. I know I'm going to fill out a survey after I buy the car, and I know it's important to you that I give you the highest marks. I want to, but can't do that if I'm getting no info now. Can we agree that I can call you every few days to get updated?"

Watch what happens in a few days....
