I'm going to guess it will be pretty close to a Mustang Shelby GT500, which is around $50,000 I believe. Which means I'm glad I ordered my 2ss, because 400 HP is enough for me (although I still believe there is no such thing as too much horse power).

it will most likely be what the srt8 is.....a model with leather etc already included in the base price....and it will probably be in the 50k range. 3k increase is a pipe dream imo.

Not necessarily.

They expect Grand Sport models to make up 60% of the buyers this year then factor in regular models and Z06s. That car starts at $55k. And there's no real good reason to build a a next generation Corvette with performance lower than the current Grand Sport....but to get there, it's a 5k increase. Plus, there's the interior they'll have to address...anything beyond what they've got will cause an increase.

Assuming they do all this, a price hike isn't that unlikely....imo.

I don't expect it to be anywhere near the CTS-v pricing, a cadillac has the Top of the line interior and all with it, deffinetly not expecting that.

Expect it to be priced in the same range as the GT500. I'm sure they will also be waiting to see what Ford does with the stang in order to take the top pony trophy with the Z28. If they throw it out there too soon for will supercharged the 5.0 and out horse it. Current Camaro prices are slightly higher than the stang and challenger so don't be suprised when the Z28 is also up there. I will be suprised if it is in the 40's.

Not everybody loves the vette. I know a crapload of people that hate it. Just because the price is close doesn't mean that people are going to rush to the vette knocking everybody out of their way. In the end the price may be close to eachother, but the two cars are completely different! I personally would KILL to have a vette, but the camaro is going to suit my lifestyle right now a million times better. So, sorry corvette, but camaro wins. Need those backseats.

Absolutely.

I want the Z28. It is completely different then a Vette, and if I wanted a Vette I would buy one. The "for that price I would get a Vette" argument is not reality. I have had (5) 2 seater cars, and it is a different "lifestyle"

Side note: If the Z28 wasn't coming down the pipe, I would be looking at the CTS-V (I love that thing)

Look for a price a little north of the current base GT500 pricing for a base Z28 It should be alot like the pricing with an SS to a GT. A little bit more but you figure it will be with the extra cost of IRS in the Camaro.

It has to between the Camaro 2SS (base MSRP $33,945) and base Vette (base MSRP of $48,930) for it to really make any sense. But does GM always do what makes sense? Like why keep GMC and kill Pontiac?

From what I understand GMC makes a crapload of money in the truck market. Way more important than Pontiac, which IMO were not much different than a chevy...IMO...

I don't see why it should need to be below the base Corvette if it will out perform it in handling and acceleration.

Pontiac was killed because it didn't make money, unlike GMC which is their most profitable brand. Keep in mind that in addition to interesting cars like the Solstice and the G8, there was also the G3 and Vibe. And there was less distinction (both price and features) between a G5 and a Cobalt vs Sierra and Silverado.
