Hey guys,

I'm new to detailing and car exterior maintenance and I noticed that my car has a charge (not sure if negative or positive) when I waxed it. I observed that dust particles quickly stick and accumulate on my paint's fresh wax surface. So I did abit of research and here is what I found.

you have to ground the static charge your car's paint has accumulated through friction of wiping/buffing when applying wax.

I'm probably going to use the water or quick-detailer method.

Onr detail spray does wonders for static of you are having that severe of an issue.

Static comes from buffing off the Haze....That's why I like wipe-on-walk-away Sealants where there's no buffing....consequently the static electricity is much, Much less than wax, which doesn't last half as long. Except for shows/exhibitions/showings wax is dead, IMO.....

Agreed. Some of my favorite sealants still require wiping off though. It should only have a static charge until your next wash regardless.
