you do it yourself?
They are so easy anymore its a shame to pay anyone to do it.
I always try to teach how to do it so they dont waste money paying $1500+ when a bottle of a quality coating is $60-100

As a fellow black SS owner, these are great pics. What specific products did you use?

Did you clay bar/decontaminate before applying? The Amazon listing just says to wash, but I'd probably clay and use something like Meguiars iron removing spray clay before trying the ceramic. Looks like you did a great job!

For that first 90 minutes or so after wiping off the last drop of water/wax applied, yes...

Do yourself a favor and stay away from ChemicalGuys. their products are just a bunch of the same thing with a new name and basically trash.
If you wanna stick with High quality use DIY Detail, Ethos, Armor detail supply, Gtechniq and Owners Pride.
My car Is currently wearing the DIY Detail 3Year graphine coating. I have installed alot of other brands as well on my cars over the years.
Gyeon MOHS, Gtechniq EXO v1,2,3,4,5, Gtechniq CSL, Carpro Cquartz, Adams advanced graphene pro, Optimum Gloss coat and DIY detail 3year and 8year

Man, that's awesome! . I was too chicken to try clay bar, paint correct and buff/polish my $70,000 BLACK car.... I give MAD props to you guys that have the skill and knowledge to do it. It's a confidence issue with me... I paid $2,800 for decon wash, clay bar, paint correction and polishing/buffing as well as having full frontal PPF(Front bumper/splitter area, whole hood, front fenders back to door jams, then lower 1/4 side skirts and below body line on doors, door cups, mirror caps, A-pillars along windshield, in front of and behind rear wheels.)...definitely not cheap, but I guess for someone like me who doesn't have the proper knowledge of all that stuff it was worth it to me..

The only time I would pay for a professional applied ceramic is for a garage queen that only sees shows. I have found that normal wear and tear and weekend driving requires a paint correction every three years so applying a 5-10 year coating to me is a waste of money. I like CSL with Exo 5 topper. Will last several years until the next paint correction is needed.

Does my car that's a 2023, got September of 2022 and currently sits with 763 miles on it qualify it as a garage queen? I don't take it to shows, don't daily it and it is stored in the garage from October-May for winter. I just drive it when I want to drive it for fun(and it IS fun!!)..but is in my will to my 8 and 10 year old kids. Just want them to have something nice from their dad after I'm long gone. . I do agree with you though..if you're daily driving or mostly daily driving, definitely need to keep up with paint correction and coating!

I did used "mothers" speed clay. Much easier and faster .Takes time but well worth it. I also bought a cordless mini blower to dry all the crevices before clay bar and ceramic coat. The streets are dirty here in Montana, and the dust accumulates quickly. It's worth the head turns!
