NPP exhaust is completely worth it IMHO. I had a 2011 SS that I finally did a muffler delete on, but to me it never sounded quite right. Too quiet with the stock mufflers, better without. But when I got my 1LE and got to start it for the first time... man oh man. Pulled the fuse and love it. And if the sound doesn't fully sell it, the quad tips are just sexy.

Yup the NPP exhaust is just what you need. I've had quite a few people comment on how they feel it sounds good without being obnoxious. I personally think the NPP exhaust is how the stock exhaust should have sounded - it's good.

Update: Found a local dealer that had two different 1LE's - one with NPP, and one without. Drove both and stood behind them and let the salesman start them up, and yeah. . . the Dual Mode is a must-have. It sounds aftermarket off the lot. . . but just the way I like it. The normal exhaust isn't terrible, but that Dual Mode is killer.
Adding that to the list. . . |

The dual mode really makes the car fun. Highly recommended.
There has been some debate on whether it adds power. I see conflicting information: GM has not changed the power output, but then at the SEMA show the NPP exhaust adds 25% reduction in back pressure. So maybe it requires a tune to take full advantage. See http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327096 scroll down to the detail pic on the exhaust where you can read the board. This is the Z28 thread but looks same as SS NPP. |

If it adds power, great. If not, I just need the sound of that V8 in my life. And that exhaust sounds great. The less I have to do to it after I pick it up, the better! |

I have the NPP with TSP headers and it sounds awesome with the fuse pulled. Just my opinion.

I can't remember which fuse it is but its the fuse that leaves the flaps open on your exhaust. Your NPP is a dual mode exhaust. Has flaps that open at certain rpms. With the fuse pulled it stays open all the time.

Having owned both Standard and NPP 1LEs, I say it's worth it. The standard sounds just okay, but NPP has more of an exotic note. As for performance difference I converted the Standard car to NPP and dyno only recorded a slight improvement at the highest RPMs.

NPP makes these cars sound like they should have from the beginning.
Aftermarket catback sales must be taking a hit due to GM providing this now. |

NPP sounds really good and I agree with the others that stated that it should be stock rather than an additional cost. I like it a lot on my 1LE but I had the Stainless Works Retro Chambered exhaust on my other Camaro and liked the sound better. It just seemed to have more of that deep old school sound to it than the NPP. That being said - I don't have any plans to change out the NPP on my car anytime soon.

When I was looking for my Camaro the dual mode was a must. I drove 2 hrs to buy car. Car also had Hurst Short Throw shifter. I really enjoyed my ride back home.
When I start the car up for friends they are impressed with the sound.

As of right now I might be flying to pick mine up and then driving it back. There's a dealer in Miami that has EXACTLY what I am looking for, for a far better price than a less-loaded 1LE here in Nashville.
