+1 on the APC
I use a diluted mix from the dollar store. It's the only thing I go there for. LA AWESOME is great on wheels and engine bays. Degreaser can be hard on plastics and dry them out.

Use a quality product like Carpro PERL (plastic engine rubber leather) to dress and protect the interior/engine ect. 303 protectant is also a quality product.

That'll work too. Seems like it would take a lot longer though. I used Koch Chemie Green Star (GS) (pre soak), rinse with a garden hose sprayer, Griot's Garage Foaming Surface Prep, use a brush to agitate & clean, rinse again, and spray down with Meguiar's Hyper Dressing for shine. Took about 15-20 minutes.

I probably wouldn't need to use both Koch Chemie GS & the Foaming Spray, unless it's really dirty.

A dirty engine can hide problems or create problems, also showing neglect. Disagree it should be dirty.
