Drag tire setup
I posted this in my whipple build thread, but wanted to bring it all together and share this info here as well. Below is the setup I put together with Mike at Kent's hot rod garage, Race Star Ind recommended them to help me with my set up.
Car: 2017 SS M6 Whipple 620/595. Wheel and tire setup for 1/4 mile runs Front Wheels: Race Star 92's 17x4.50 5x120BC 1.75"BS GLOSS BLACK Tires: M/T ET FRONT 27.5/4.0-17 Rear Wheels: Race Star 92's 17x10.5 5x120BC 7" BS GLOSS BLACK Tires: M/T ET STREET R BIAS 28x11.5-17 I currently run MMR M228 (gen 5 z28 replicas) and continental extremcontact tires. Going to this drag pack I will save 27 lbs at each rear corner, and 42 lbs at each front corner for a total of about 138 lbs just in wheels and tires, all rotating mass! I will keep you posted as to how it goes once I get them installed and make some passes. On stock tires I went 2.098 60ft, 11.409et @ 128.18mph, we will see how it improves form there.

Looking to purchase a drag set-up and the one you run sounds good. I have a whipple 635 RWHP car? Do you think a Hoosier slick would be a better situation? I will be changing tires at the track I guess? I have about 35 miles to the track and with the MT i could drive there and race then drive home much easier... I just don't know if they will hold? Any ideas? Just dropped 1500 on a new set of Michelin pilot sport 4S yesterday. The Toyo proxies R888R were done. Good tire when new but the noise from them daily driving was terrible, and at CF8 they did not hold the launch from idle. I tried to flash the trans with 1800 RPM just loaded it up a little no difference. Just want to make sure that this purchase will solve my spinning isn't winning issue...

I would invest a little into the Forgestar drag pack. I was not happy with how heavy the Racestar wheels turned out to be.

Got my drag pack on and just trying to find a day/night that works to get to the track.
Using a bathroom scale I weighed both my street and drag setups: Street Front: MRR M228 20 x 9 with Continental Extreme Contact Sport 275/35/20 = 56 lbs each Rear: MRR M228 20 x 11 with Continental Extreme Contact Sport 305/35/20 = 60.5 lbs each Track Front: Race Star 92's 17x4.50 with M/T ET FRONT 27.5/4.0-17 = 33 lbs each Rear: Race Star 92's 17x10.5 with M/T ET STREET R BIAS 28x11.5-17 = 52.5 lbs each. Savings Front: 23 lbs each Rear: 8 lbs each Total: 62 lbs I feel like the track setup weighed more than the published weights, i dont know if it is the tires or the wheels. Also I did have to move the harness in the driver side rear wheel well.
