Last Friday night I had some tough choices to make at my local watering hole.
Surly Darkness
Surly Todd The Axeman
Surly Eight
Stone 12-12-12 Vertical Epic

I had an Eight and a 12-12-12. To have a bar that has 31 of 32 taps being craft beer is fantastic. Being that he they are in a rural area is even better. He had other fantastic beers on tap as well.

Participated in a beer pairing dinner at a local eatery called "Cuzzy's Brickhouse" the brewer was a local one named "Enki Brewing"
Enki's Cacao Porter is one of my favorites, yesterday they rolled out what they call "Mocha Porter" in their taproom. It is a limited release for them and was described as Cacao Porter with some espresso added. Tasted nothing like what I expected. Lots of creamy vanilla taste and just delicious. I told their rep that Cacao Porter can go away and make just the Mocha Porter. Overall the meal was fantastic, the chef used the paired beer in each course.

If you've never done a beer pairing dinner, do it. Typically great food and beers by people that are trying to show off their chops.

I'm not into all the fancy beers, so it's Yuengling for me ... It's the closest to the Stroh's I grew up on.
