Looking at the Copart listing, it’s hard to tell what’s up (not unusual). It says primary damage is to the rear, secondary to the front, but both ends of the car looks pristine and glossy in the pics. The tires look brand new, and it looks like the optional gurney flap was there at some point, since the holes for it are there.

Undercarriage damage, maybe? Hard to tell, but if there is, the wheels are all pointing in the right direction. So besides the ripped seat - did the airbag actually pop? Hard to tell - the car is clean.

Maybe the salvage title is from being rebuilt, and it was stolen after it was back on the road...

Looks like the passenger side air bags did go off you can see the headliner is off to, so some thing happened.

Having purchased several cars from Copart here is my input;

DON'T purchase unless you can inspect the car! Damage can happen after the pictures are taken. They move the cars using giant forklifts and they get banged around a bit. Also the front bumper cover gets damaged it the process.

The prices that salvage title cars get at auction is so high that insurance conpanys are quicker to "total" a car.

So if you can inspect a car and are willing to do some work you can get a good car for a good price.

Good luck
Craig

I have that one on my list. We spoke via instagram message. There was water over the road and he lost control, the rear a-arms and subframe is cracked from going off the road and over something. Structurally, the car is trash. Maybe its hard to tell on coparts but the rear passenger wheel is NOT pointed in the right direction (or wasnt when I got the accident pictures).

Now that you mention it.. the right rear looks like it’s on some serious positive camber setting that probably isn’t intentional. Makes sense now.

A white 2014 Z/28 is listed for sale on copart in Las Vegas
Looks like the damage is very similar to the black one in California
