That's funny. The picture is a good illustration of the style of the 6th being tasteful. To me the 6th looks like a much more expensive sports car. With it's higher performance (stock) I think GM did a great job. When I see them side by side I could envision 5th sales dropping off fast without the refresh.
What Camaro lover couldn't like that '17 ZL1.
I hope not to offend anyone, but the only thing I dislike in Camaro history is the 1967 1968 non-rs grills. The 1998 refresh was meh also except the SS models.
Like the "Ford Camaro" in a different thread, I could understand someone calling the blue car an AMC Camaro from the front of it.

I dont think anybody is offended. But everyone has their own take on things. For me the 6th gen going down the road doesnt do it for me. I find the lines of the car blend in with alot of others on the road. Sure its a nice car but it wont imo reach the status of the 5th gen .Sure its faster and all that but it just doesnt have that muscle car persona which i dont think future gens will have either. But your right the 6th gen Zl1 is a sweet ride.

To the OP's title "this just never gets old." I am so impressed with the handling/cornering abilty of my 1LE, that it "just never gets old" driving it !

I'm a Camaro lover and I don't really like the ZL1. I don't care how much HP it has. If I don't like the styling, I won't even consider buying it.

Give me a slow beautiful looking car any day than a fast ugly looking one. Now, I'm not saying the 6th gen ZL1 is ugly, far from it. However, compared to the 5th gen, it has many shortcomings in the exterior design.

So many in fact, that I'm glad I was able to step into a brand new 5th gen before GM stopped making them.

The '98 refresh improved the looks on the 4th gen tremendously. The awful door stop look of the early models was toned down with the new front end. The SS models had the cool 2nd gen F-body style hood scoop and the rear spoiler was raised up in the middle giving the back end a much more aggressive look.

I agree the 5th gen just has something thats missing on the 6th gen. Maybe its just the muscle car look that now is gone from all but the Dodge lineups.

I think all Camaros are beautiful. There is something to be said about the 5th gen's lines. It is a robust Camaro that revived the legacy of the brand.

I would not necessarily rate the 5th gen over the other generations, but one thing I do like about this generation is that Chevrolet finally took the opportunity to develop and add more content to Camaro. At long last we were able to see editions that could approach, match and exceed higher echelon cars such as corvette; Not that the older Camaros could not compete, but the 5th gen intentionally made a mission to elevate the performance and quality of Camaro. I'll always be grateful to this generation for elevating the Camaro.

I couldn't agree more with the 5th looking better than the 6th generation but the interior looks much better on the 6th to me. I just purchased a 2010 SS with a 6-speed and I'm very happy that GM still making some improvements to the Camaro. They finally have this car right!
