Not a surprise. I’m sure there are people who’ve put down Model 3 deposits who have since purchased a Bolt or a Leaf. I know one guy who did decide to buy a Bolt, but left his deposit in pace. His rationale is that right now they are only making high content Model 3s so his order keeps getting shoved back. He likes the styling of the Model 3, so he’s willing to keep his order in as a stop gap. I’m sure others who get Bolt or Leaf and are satisfied with that may ask for refunds of their deposits on Model 3.

As the Hyundai Ioniq and other upcoming EVs, especially with decent range, come to market, we’ll probably see more deposits refunded.

As soon as the money is not refunded, the company loses all credibility and will crash a fiery death. Right now they are in the middle stages of a ponzi scheme. Taking in new orders to pay off old orders/refunds.
