low oil pressure shut engine off

I have had a melling hi pressure and volume oil pump in for about 14k miles... shut the engine off, wasnt able to look at cluster gauge to read before turning off.Had hard starting after I checked oil and level was ok, almost like it wasn't getting fuel. Finally started and cluster gauage reads normal and no cel. Could sensor be going bad? never done this before...

just asking because idle and rpm oil pressures are the same before this happen....No change, could it still be a pump issue?

Yes it could be the pump sticking. Since it's been so long I doubt it's the o-ring.

I know the stock pumps had problems with relief sticking that's why I went with Melling
