Looking for a new motor
I was thinking about a 416. Will be with a slptvs2300. Or should just forge stock 376?

I would stay with a 376 configuration. It's not what I did but it's what I will do next time. It will be happier at high RPM and easier to make boost on with the 2300. It will make boost on a 416 or 427 but it takes more effort.

Not sure yet but I might go tt but it won't be for a while. Right now the Tvs is what I'm stuck with. So most people build 416 for all motor?

I dunno, I am selling the LS3 long block out of my 2012 with 13k on it. Putting in an ERL Superdeck 6. The TVS is a tiny blower for anything much larger than 376. I am putting a F1A on the 427 and thats still not enough blower.

I would like to be pretty crazy but can't at the moment. Maybe 900whp+ through the th400. Also a thought that crossed my mind is sell the SLP and stay all motor until I can afford tt kit or procharger

Here is my story, learn from it....lol
I had a forged 376 with my TVS, made 736rw with a 3.2 pulley and still had a 3.0 pulley to use. Friend bought a ERL 427 and ended up changing his mind. So I bought it, bought bigger heads, new cam ect. Obviously not a cheap build. I put the 3.0 pulley on it, put a ported snout on the blower, Made a 5" air intake for it, added a water/Ice tank. I made 761rw....Didnt even pick up 30hp. The blower can not keep up. I made 17psi and carried through the rpm range with the 376. On this engine, it starts at 17 and drops to 13 by the end of the pull. I knew the blower would really limit the car, but didnt realize it would be that much. After buying this ERL engine and after talking with more people, its not worth it. They have issues. I would highly recommend looking at other options. |

Thank you sir. This is why I'm thinking of selling the blower to help out with the 416 then once I'm settled get a procharger or agp kit and turn up the boost

Flip the tvs add some more cash go turbo, ecs, or whipple. I think all 3 of those options will produce 900 or more.

Imo 376 is fine for a turbo build. But lots of people go bigger.
