That was one of my favorite car shows.

And the last show was awesome!

A customer came in who had been trying to assemble a 1969 Camaro ZL1 COPO 'replica' car with known ZL1 parts but was missing a genuine original snowflake engine. He had heard that Dam actually owned one and asked Dan if he'd be willing to sell it.

Turns out Dan had TWO of the genuine ZL1 427's tucked away and agreed to sell him one of them.

The rest of the show showed them constructing a duplicate of COPO ZL1 #68 will all genuine date coded ZL1 parts.

Me too!! Loved Dan's style. Blunt and to the point, and gotta be right!!

He voluntarily ended it one reason because they put him $1 million in debt.

Another reason was the high turnover because his workers got tired of the camera crap.

One day, I will drive down to Norfolk on a Friday to meet him and tour his shop.

This is kind of nice. I don't have to use my freezer for making ice cubes up here in N.Y. Just fill the trays and they are frozen in about an hour.

The yellow Metro van was a multi-episode build , the end of which was part of the final episode that aired at 10pm EST.

Yup, loved his style. I didn't know about the debt but figured as much with getting tired of the camera's.
I need to take a drive to the shop, I'm only about 20-30 minutes away. Just never knew when they were filming and didn't want to be a nuisance. Guess he's wide open now.

they put him in that much debt....how? guess they do have to slow down the builds for the camera. i would think the show would bring him a ton of high end customers and builds though.

still like iron resurrection....the hot blond wife does not hurt.

I don't know how he could be loosing money. He wasn't doing the show for free. The low end is about $30K per episode for the primary people on "reality" shows. It can go up into 7 figures per episode for the most popular shows.
