Software Problems?
Just got home late yesterday from Bowling Green. My wife and I had a fantastic time at our museum delivery. The only down side was the rain.
This was our second museum pick up, first was in 1999, things have really changed since then. The ride home was uneventful if you call driving through rain 80% of the trip, Bowling Green to Houston 956 miles, uneventful. I have a few minor problems with the car. Has anyone seen or heard of the following: 1: Voice recognition for radio and navigation works fine from the screen icon, but will not work from the steering wheel select switch. 2: Traction control system worked fine on the drive home. The last mode I had the car in when I shut the car off was the sport mode. This morning when I started the car I noticed the system was still in sport mode, should have defaulted to touring mode. |

If you park it in sport it will be in sport when you start back up. Only one on my '14 that defaults to touring is track mode.

I'll check tomorrow. My understanding is that the touring mode is the default mode. On the drive home every time I stopped the car on restart the traction control system went onto touring mode regardless of the selection.

Touring mode is only the default when you are in track, sport will hold.

It will also default to Touring mode if you shut the car off in Weather and Eco modes. Sport does hold in my '14.

Yesterday I tried shutting down in the Eco and Weather mode. Both times system failed to default to Touring mode. Stayed in Eco and Weather modes. I still think I have a software glitch somewhere in the system.

Well, I confess to a small error on my part - I realized today that mine stays in Eco mode as well after shutting off and restarting. It does still default to Tour from Weather and Track modes. Mine is a 2014 7-speed manual. It is possible an automatic car or the '15s may default differently. I guess a question for thought is that, if all else works to your satisfaction, is the default setting really an issue?

My '15 is also a 7 speed. My career back ground was in aircraft maintenance. There is no room for error in this field. I guess when I see something that does not work as specified I fall back and ask why. Is this a big problem, in a word no. I do not yet have the service manuals for my 2015. If anyone has the 2014 manuals can you post what the service manual states as defaults for the system. When I was talking to the service manager from the dealer he stated that what he was reading from stated the default was touring. He did not did not specify from what mod the car was in when shut off.

My 14 is a seven speed and I normally drive in sport mode. When I shut the car down it is in Sport mode but as the car is in the process of cutting off it reverts to Touring on the display. The next time I crank the car it's showing Sport mode. Doesn't bother me but I don't know if that's what it should be doing.

The dealership that I brought my C7 did me a favor and checked a couple of C7's on their lot.
The service manager called me this morning and this is what he observed on two C7. System will default from Weather and Track to the touring mode when shut down in either of these selections. When shutting down from the Eco or Sport mode you will see the T come into view as the car is shutting down but the system will stay in Eco or Sport mode if selected. Sorry for all the confusion on this subject but I think we can put the mode select subject to rest. |
