Dealership over tightens lug nuts!!! NEED HELP!
I had my Gen 5 at the dealership about a month ago and they took off one of my tires to check the tire pressure sensor. I am under warranty but he would only cover the labor cost and wanted to charge me $140 for a part I can get off amazon for $40. I told him no thanks. He put the tire back on and I went on my way. Tonight I am painting my calipers and I get to that wheel and none of the lugs will budge. I take out my torque wrench and set it to 150/fp. STILL WONT BUDGE! then I throw all my body weight on it (180) NOTHING. Now I am fuming because not only will it not come off but can it do long term damage being over tightened?
Tomorrow morning I will be at the dealership screaming at everyone!! What can help me fight my case? I only have 300 miles left under warranty and now it looks like they may have cause some potently big problems. I have no idea how I can prove it was them and what they could even do to make everything right.. NEVER go to the Roseville Chevy!!!!! |

No problem, just take it back Monday, I doubt over tightened will cause any problem, the worst is if they snap the stud unscrewing it, then they will just have to replace the stud. Our camaro's have a high torque setting for the wheels.

Over torquing can lead to eventual warped rotors. Being a maintenance item, you are going to have tough time getting the dealer to pay for this in the long run also.
