Hagerty Insurance

Has anyone used this insurance company? I have my cars with State Farm right now (except the Camaro/broken/uninsured). Hagerty from what I've read insures the modifications I've done to the car. A lot of the vette guys seems like they use them. Premiums and coverage are not bad.

I use them for mine. I have my car covered for 30k and the rates are pretty low. However i dont drive my car alot. Its not meant for daily driven vehicles. I'm an insurance agent too and I reccomend them.

Oh nice... only thing that sucks is that they don't do winter storage, which State Farm will only charge me 9$. At the same time State a farm doesn't cover the modifications.

How's their claim process or ease?

I think theres a mileage cap, so if you drive alot, I dont think itll work for you. Have you asked state farm if they will do a modification rider to your policy?

Most "classic" car people use that insurance and from what I know, theyre on the ball.

I’ve got a combined 55K in guaranteed payout coverage between my Camaro and my 72 Chevy K20 Cheyenne. It’s like $87 a month. The IROC-Z is going to be going on there soon as well. I’ve never had to file a claim so I can’t speak for that but the customer service is great. Also I’ve got first rights to buy either of them back if they are ever totaled. There’s a mileage cap on my K20 of 7,000 miles a year and 3,500 on the Camaro. Neither of which ever come close. The Camaro requires indoor secure storage, but the truck does not.

They said they only do the cash value of the car. When I did the quote, it said no cap on mileage. Once the car is up and running, I'm sure I'll only drive less that 3k a year. I have 3 other cars plus a company car.

Haggerty was way overpriced when I got a quote. I have American Collector’s for at least half the cost. $60k agreed value.

Their quote was literally half with the same amounts of coverage when I just checked. How's their service, and claim process? I'm assuming they cover the mods also.

Don't tell them the real hp of the car. There is a hp cutoff where they consider it too high risk. Also Don't mention racetracks. So far I'm happy with them. 4 years so far. I haven't had any claims though. A ton of guys in my local corvette club use them too. You just gotta prove you have another vehicle that's your DD. I've got it on my vette and camaro.

If they ask, 500hp is safe to say. I dare not tell them actual car potential lol.

This^ Hagerty asked if I ever tracked any of my cars and told them the Camaro goes once or twice a year. They wouldn't insure it without me signing a waiver at that point stating I wouldn't race. They offered to still insure our other 6 non DD's though.

Hagerty said they have no issues with Track days and I asked a couple Reps, I actually just renewed today. They did say that i should just call them and tell them when I am going to the track. I have been with them for around 10 Years and I am happy.

I had Hagerty for almost 7 months until I hit my mileage cap and, if I remember correctly was 7k miles. So, I went with Geico because they insure your modifications too but don't really advertise it and without a mileage cap.

Service has been superb, but I haven’t had to file a claim. Hopefully that never happens. Have a local agent and knows the car is a beast. Zero issues.
