48 almost 49K - Not Good
Well the dealership has been after me to get up there and drive the two SSs they have on the lot (the ones I posted pics of on thanksgiving night in another thread)
Last night I was in the area and again went up there. This time the sticker was in the windows. They want almost 49K for each of the cars. Wow, crazy, for that type of money I can get a used C7, even on their lot. LOL I think my off on again relationship with the 2016 SS is over if I am looking at 48 to 49k for these cars. I dont know if I make the drive up there tomorrow to drive them like I told them I would a few days ago. All I can say is WOW. |

You get what you pay for. I don't want anything but the base model of either 1SS or 2SS and possibly NPP. That's it. Leaning more towards 1SS as this will just be a fun car and don't need all the gizmos.

It seems like many dealers are ordering moderately to heavily loaded 2SS's also.
It's totally understandable from their end..more profit, however it does make finding a good, lower option car tricky. Most of the time if you want to get a 1SS/1LT/ etc car with the standard suspension/transmission, etc...you need to find a dealer willing to use an allocation to order you one special. That can be hard to find at first. |

Yeah just wait till Feb. or March and order one. Model year production will run until October and then guess what..... they build the same car again next year! No worries about not getting what you want for a good price. Just have to be a little patient.

yeah, and I think if you get away with a 1ss non loaded for lower price, you end up modding anyways. If I went without the exhaust and suspension upgrade I would be spending to mod that. I guess it does not add up so quickly in the mind (mod cost). I do know this, getting an SS for me was suppose to be an "as is no mods needed buy" Well no mods other than tint, programmer, CAI, and lowering.
But, 49K and doing those basic mods sucks as compared to 41 or 42K and doing those must haves mods. |

Yeah thx, will try be patient. People tell me all the time that I really patient but, in the car world, when I get a fever (car or mods) it gets really bad, even if it for something simple like a sticker for the rear window.

Are we really still talking about pricing? Prices came out like what, two months ago?
But, if you wait six months or so, you should start seeing decent drops off MSRP. So that high 40's car will easily become a mid 40's car. I think at this point I want a 1SS anyway, except for the leather I don't want all the stuff that comes with the 2SS. Like the disco lights, heated seats, upgraded stereo, fancy sill plates, etc...my car will be a weekend cruiser and will see track time. No need for that stuff... |

Bob Brown got the 1SS in. Should at least go test drive it and tell me if I did a good job on my first order

I think that people wanted to have a "poor mans vette" and that simply doesn't mean cheap.

MRC was definitely a tough decision, but I live on a horrible road that makes my current car nearly rattle apart with coilovers. Pfadt is developing a coilover kit for the MRC, so that should be interesting. We'll see if that happens or not.
