As pawn stars Rick would say about such things, "are you saying they are asking that or they are selling for that?". One suggests an actual valuation, the other just suggests someone hoping for a sucker

I suspect they'll be having those 3 cars on the lot for a looooooong time. I paid a markup myself, 10% of that....WoW!

Most do it just to keep the car on the sales floor for as long as possible. Walk-in traffic.

There's a Lime Rock Green one listed on Ebay for $99995, also in California. Same dealer, I wonder?

Exactly what I was thinking. If someone wants it that badly and ponies up...great. If not, what a show piece until the next shipment arrives. Look on AutoTrader and you see a bunch over invoice tempting would be Corvette owners.

That's crazy !!
My C7 will be the first car that I've paid MSRP for. Every other car I've bought has been with an employee or supplier discount.

I went to Courtesy the other day to have lunch at the Corvette Cafe, and check out the C7s. There were a lot of people coming in to see them. Some have suggested they use the high mark-up to keep people from buying them so that they will have cars to show to customers. And, if somebody is willing to pay, then they make money. Now, this is Silicon Valley - Apple headquarters is a few miles away. There are MANY rich people in this area. Also, 3 other Chevy dealers closed several years ago, so Courtesy is the only one left in this area. They've been in business many years, and have loyal and rich customers. They were #28 in the top selling Corvette dealers in the U. S. for 2012. http://cars.forumsee.com/a/m/s/p12-12567-0356015--top-corvette-dealers-2012.html
I bought my 2012 C6 there last year for almost $12,000 UNDER sticker. This mark-up thing is just a game they play whenever a new model comes out. I doubt anyone ever pays that amount - it's negotiable - not mandatory.

UPDATE: Apparently, they became aware of their infamy.
"The dealership had that mark up illustrated on a Premier Edition Laguna Blue C7 with only 500 of those available and only to illustrate very high end value of the car... they did not want to sell it." according to their general manager. The over MSRP sticker is off and they regret the misunderstanding. Someone verified this and saw a sign that says "display car".
