There’s also this presentation by Tadge Juechter, Exec. Chief Engineer, Kirk Bennion, Exterior Design Manager, and Harlan Charles, Corvette Marketing Manager at the 25th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum. Very much worth watching. The first 10 minutes are introductions and historic video. Then Tadge describes the development process. Kirk describes a lot of the elements of the design, spending a lot of time on the aero and how the hybrid wing/spoiler works. Harlan discusses a lot of the ordering options and packages. During the Q&A Tadge fields a number of questions on the DCT. Definitely worth watching that part of the Q&A, even though other parts of it are a bit ho-hum.

They showed a few glimpses in backgrounds of presentations, but I want that picture with all 8 generations together. I have C1-C7 as my background now. need to update.

Kai Spande, Bowling Green Plant Manager, gave a presentation to plant workers on August 29th and the question about when tours would resume was asked. His response was that after C8 production started and run rate has improved to their expectations, tours would resume. Expectations? Appropriate line rate w/o an unexpected # of assembly issues. Feb/Mar??
Video was posted by Gunkk on 8/30 and Kai comments were at about the 38 min time mark.

The floodgates have been opened....

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...nspired-design

The team working on the redesign for the Jaguar F-Type sports car is reportedly looking at 2010's C-X75 concept car for inspiration.
The C-X75 is an extended-range electric supercar fitted with microturbines for range extenders. Jaguar started work on a production version with a plug-in hybrid powertrain utilizing a 2.0-liter inline-4 but ultimately canned the project in 2012 due to financial reasons. Now the car, or at least some of its design and technology, could be resurrected for a future F-Type.

Autocar reported Monday that the team working on the redesigned F-Type are deciding whether to stick with the current model's front-engine layout or swap to a mid-engine layout, and that the latter is the favored option. The mid-engine layout was also hinted by former Jaguar design chief Ian Callum as early as 2016.

The photo is of the 2010 C-X75 Concept from 2010.

GM has confirmed the 5.5L DOHC V8 in the C8.R is a production-based engine.

I hope GM builds either the C8 Z06 or Grand Sport along the lines of the Z/28 or ZL1 1LE. They need a more focused car. Otherwise, we will see a C8 Z06 pushing 3800 lbs and the ZR1, if it has electric motors, will be closer to 4000 lbs.

I could see GM putting a ~500hp version of the 5.5L DOHC engine in a C8 GS and a ~650-700hp version of it in a C8 Z06. There is no doubt in my mind that if GM does another Grand Sport, it will keep in line with the C7 version. My '17 GS is truly a surgical weapon. It is lightweight and extremely agile. The Average Joe (including myself) cannot dream of pushing this car to it's limits. A C8 version would undoubtedly be in this upper echelon of performance as well.

Now in theory that means the production one could be smaller displacement correct?

Trying to connect dots of all the various rumors lol

It could potentially be smaller or larger. The 5.5L can make a lot more power than the 500hp in the C8.R, but IMSA keeps that in check to keep the races fair.
