The Slammer

Just got my Slammer weighted shift ball from Raceseng. This thing is heavy, 1.5 lbs! Installed the adapter and waiting for the loctite to cure so I can install the ball.

There is an application table on the Raceseng website and the very last listing is for the barton stick.

It's adapter 081102, M12 x 1.25mm adapter (TA).

I actually went to Home Depot and bought an M12 x 1.25 bolt to make sure that is the correct adapter prior to placing my order.

Just finished a test drive. Shifting is so much smoother now. Virtually all the notchiness is gone. Got rid of the rattle I had stomping on it in 3rd also. I'm very happy.

I may pick up this adapter from Barton,
https://bartonshifters.com/shop/ols/...t-knob-adapter.

The Slammer threads down over the flat stick and hides the B in Barton which functionally is fine but for appearance (not a big deal) the adapter has the same thread as the Slammer. My Barton shifter came with two sticks, https://www.summitracing.com/parts/b...maro/year/2010, the flat stick and one that has the same cross section as the stock shift rod so you can use the stock shift ball if desired. The adapter would fit the stock style rod.

Looks nice. Extra weight should help with shifts. Big difference on the weighted one I put on my MGW.

Just weighed the stock one. 10.5 oz. Just a tad over 1/2 lb. Twice that does sound better for smoother shifting. Adapter looks fairly simple, for the stock arm. Think I’ll give a shot at machining my own.

Yeah, I was very impressed with the difference just a shift knob can make. Looks like we picked the same options too, gloss black with engraving.

I was looking at the other finishes which are very nice. The white was tempting me for the old school look. The translucent ones are very cool also. Just decided that the gloss black blended in better for the interior.

Went ahead and made an adapter, based off of a Raceseng design.
Alodined for now. More than likely, a satin black before installation.
Next, the ball...

Great job. Are you going to fabricate a ball?
