4K Gaming

What do you guys think about the upcoming 4K gaming industry? Would you make the switch?

The Battle Box setup below will cost you $10,000 and the Asus monitor costs $3,500. That's a lot of $$$ for 4K gaming.... wonder who would want a badass setup like that now!!!

4k hmmn is that like supposed to be better than 1080p but I also thought that there limitations to what the human eye can actually tell the difference above anything double that. Never heard of 4k gaming and only hardcore gamers who love to show off I can see spending that kind of dough.

1080 resolution (I and P) = 1080 lines of pixels on the screen.

4k resolution = 4320 lines of pixels on the screen, so the definition will be MUCH crisper.

The price will come down eventually, but I don't know anyone who has the money to spend on 4k even for television, nor would anyone want to until they start releasing movies/tv/cable/etc with that resolution.

Yeah it will be cool once the price is normal. New tech is always super expensive like the 4k HDTVs they have now. In a few years they'll be normal price too.

Less it flops like 3D did

It can't hurt once it's around, but I'd rather have 1080p/60fps on all games instead of 1080p/30fps like most.

I'll wait until the prices come down and the support is there for it. But 4K is pretty sweet!

Here are some of the differences between 1080p and 4K that were posted on the Nvidia website.

While that's Really cool looking, it's going to be YEARS before mainstream "pc" gaming goes 4k, we still don't have much support for 64bit, I'd just suggest getting a nice high refresh led tv and be done with it ......for now

Star Citizen will be supporting 4K resolution at launch Provided one has a beastly system that can actually handle it.

Those Titans are about $1,000 a piece, you should actually be able to build your own system with 3 titans for less than 10k. You could actually probably get by 8-9k including the monitor. Save even more money if you go with a Monoprice Korean 4k Monitor.
