Powermaster 9509 starter 2011 LS3

I tried installing this in my 2011 SS but the stock starter has a plug in solenoid wire and this one is a conventional nut bolt style.

Anyone have experience with this? Is there a pigtail that can be purchased so the original wire doesn't have to be cut?

Thanks

I installed the same starter on my ZR1. I just cut the OEM end off and crimped on a ring.

A more labor intensive option is to make a female plug that matches the OEM and install the ring on the other end. Then you would just plug the two in together.

The easiest thing to do is cut the OEM one off, leaving enough wire in case you ever wanted to put it back together.

Yea, I was trying to avoid cutting the connector off. Might have to splice into it if I can't find the proper end.

The stock end is garbage anyway and prone to not connect well... also the starter has to be clocked and the main power wire bent to connect to the starter. You need to clear the sensor that comes out the side of the pan.....

I was able to source an oem connector with a pigtail to connect to the solenoid. You are correct on clocking the starter to clear the sensor on the block. Also the original heat shield won't work and neither will the small plastic flywheel shield.

After these hurdles the starter does work great and I'm no longer getting slow cranking with the occasional service stabilitrak.

Can you share where you sourced the OEM pigtail connector? Thanks.

Yep, I bought it from EFI Connection, I had them make it with 6" pigtail - Link below shows the part without the pigtail.

Just a update on the EFI wire.
In the search box, just type in "starter", and scroll down.
