Well, you've certainly got it all figured out, don't you?

The CT4s & CT5s sold in China are built in Shanghai.

Why would Lansing need to work OT? Sounds dumb to me.

There is no "talk"... it's one bogus article on the internet that keeps getting re-shared.

Whether or not you like the direction GM is going, the company has been very obvious about where it’s headed. Kill the Camaro due to lack of sales. Build EVs because the federal government says so. Increase international sales (especially China). Pay Mary enough so she can buy another leather jacket.

What’s always been a little baffling is the way GM treats its customers (the dealers) and the dealers’ customers (the final purchaser of their vehicles.)

The 2025 CT5 refresh is surprising to me. I was under the impression the Lansing plant was slated for EV's soon, and assumed the CT4/5 would have an early death. Is the CT4 following CT5's lead?

It's really like 1 in a million, but i still can't help but think that the alpha II bones in Lansing will find their way into a 7th gen ICE Camaro.... i'm telling myself there's a chance.... LOL

Now that I realize the ct4 and CT5 are built in Lansing, similar to the Camaro, it explains how and why the build quality of the Camaro is so decent. Material choices and ergonomics aside, 6th gen Camaros seem pretty solidly built.

If that is the case, I have a question for General Motors....... why is the Cadillac CT5 going into 2025 then?

I just received an update from the Cadillac website that the UPDATED 2025 CT5 will include the one piece 33" curved LED screen dashboard similar to the Escalade.

So they're not only going to continue CT5 production, it's getting a very expensive, serious update. For model year 2025, which means they still need to go through the full 2024 model year production.

Keep in mind this is the exact same chassis the Camaro is built on. This is also the exact same division Queen Mary wants to convert to full electric first, to lead the way to GM's full electric conversion.

It really feels like she's just pi--ing on our heads but just telling us it's raining.

You saved me from being that guy. I haven’t been in the plant for years, so I’m not certain how connected the production cells are for the two programs.

Plus, CT4 and CT5 are both still built in China for China, so the development dollars are thinned out across both regions. FWIW, CT5 sales are up 22% year over year, so there’s a bit of incentive there.

Looks like camaro outsells the ct5 at least in 2022

CT5

Camaro

I’m guessing our friends in DC have more to do with gm’s decision to end the camaro than sales numbers. My guess it’s all about fleet mpg and since Cadillac is a halo brand whatever fleet mpg credits are available go to them.

That’s in the US. In China GM sells about 50,000 CT5 per year. Plus a slightly lesser number of CT4. They are built in China for sale in China, but the product development costs for US and Chinese built cars combined presents a much better economy of scale than Camaro.

its so much

why cant chevy make a 7th generation camaro? GM doesnt "HAVE" to be full electric until 2035? thats 12 years? cant they try? fix the belt line, create just a little more trunk and back seat space, add some more colors, etc...cant they just try? i mean take a little inspiration from the 5th and 6th and 2nd generation camaro and go for it where are the engineers? they have billions in reserve and they know it...no matter what you read about the industry and the UAW GM has golden parachutes forever.......I dont get the failure attitude...sad...thats my two cents...

GM in the hands of hard core liberals now. They will go along with the agenda no matter how stupid. Lets see China will be building a Battery plant near Detroit. The last I heard China was the country trying to destroy us and our economy.
