im 18 i have a 08 lancer(which i plan on using as a trade in) which is front wheel drive (lol) and the handeling in the snow is terrible, i came up to a stop sign last winter and when went to stop, i slid right threw the interection and almost got him, so i dont think it much really matters snow is just bad to drive on unless you have 4 wheel or all wheel

AWD does nothing to help your braking distance. Does it help acceleration? YES. Handling? Some. Braking? No.

How does the Camaro handle in the snow?

particularly with RS package. Since i plan on using the Camaro as a daily driver and were i live it tends to snow for a couple months im wondering if anyone has had an experience in the snow yet?

I have seen pictures on this site of a red Ontario Camaro in the snow...but I have a feeling not many of us have experienced this car in snow considering when cars began to deliver.

If you live in a hilly area it might suck. My 95 handled like hell in the hilly terain of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania.

I have more confidence where I am living now since it's much, much flatter (to me anyhow).

I bet it won't be great, seeing as the RS has "summer" tires. I would think as stated above, no one's driven one in the snow yet. I plan to drive my 4wd truck on days that snow is predicted.

Better chance with the auto shift V6. Manual V6, or V8 rear wheel drive will be a bear even on flat terrain. Don't plan any quick trips to the hospital.
I'm parking my 2SS, 6SP manual in the garage if there is even a slight chance of flurries. Even though I came from Northern Iowa and snow is not an issue, these NW Arkansas drivers are dingbats on slick streets!

Same as any 2wd coupe.

If ice don't drive. If too deep snow don't drive.

I would recommend this thread because they made some comments on the snow handling of the Camaro with winter tires.

Being from Ottawa Canada there is no way that this car will be driven in the winter. You put it away in December and bring it out late April.

A Camaro is not a car that should be driven in the winter, imo. When the first snowflake falls, in the garage the Camaro goes, till the first nice spring day.

I've been wondering this as well - its a definate no based on the normal packages. The only way to get non-summer tires is to buy the LT or LS without the RS package. Sucks, huh? GM did not think this through. We are not all fortunate enough to live in FL or have an extra 4WD vehicle we can drive in the winter. I currently have 2 Camaros, one of which has to go out in the snow/ice on occasion. It is not pretty, and that's my V6!
