Quick Question for Drag Racers (MANUAL ZL1)
I'm curious if when doing a burnout in a manual transmission ZL1 (to heat up the tires before a drag race) you are supposed to turn off just TC (by hitting the TC button once) or do you guys also turn off Stabilitrack as well? (by pressing & holding the TC button).
It seems to me that you would just turn off TC as Stabilitrack only kicks in when the vehicle is in motion and going around a turn... |

I turn everything off on my M6.
You should always turn TC off on the street for hard shifting. I sheared drive shaft bolts, and pulverized a rear end, and chipped a ring gear due to TC. You do not want brakes applied when shifting, harder they spin the harder the brake is applied. Stability control is good for the street. If you get sideways, just lift and it will straighten you out. Go to this link for good racing tips. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=62548&page=2 |

I just turn off TC.
Also, if you are going to use launch control don't sidestep the clutch. Lift your foot off. After some testing I found that side stepping the clutch causes too much wheelspin. "Stock car and tires"

+1 on the no side stepping for sure and the single press for TC disable works fine for standing burnouts.
