I'm now at 3400 and having 2nd Because of This...

Well I just got a message from GMconnects saying I'm now at 3400 ...however, in case you guys were unaware, the only other performance car I've really been a fan of other than the ZL1 is the 2+2 GTR. However, as you all know, the price is ridiculously high and even 2009's are still in the $75k range. So I found this 2009 Premium GTR with only 9k miles on it and it looks VERY clean with the coil-over suspension and 22" forged DPE wheels and smoked out lights--totally the look I would bring with the ZL1. It's listed for $66k, so I'm trying to weigh out if it's worth the extra $10k or not over the ZL1...Yes I know my payments will be slightly higher and that's in the back of my mind, but do you guys think it's worth it? I mean Godzilla is a total beast but also a tame daily driver!!! Yes 2009 had less HP but still launch control

In my experience with expensive cars that have been modified or customized and are going below the average price range theres usually one or more good reasons why. It took me two Land Rovers and an M3 to learn that

Nice looking car, but not for me really. I mean your the one that would be driving this car its really up to you. I would make sure to go test drive it and see how it feels and if your comfortable with it.

I hear their launch control works particularly well . At least your won't have to worry about any warranty coverage

I say get it only 9k miles, that's still brand new and at 66k its a steal. My .2 cents.

It is not the monthly payment difference that you should be worried about. A ZL1 you can take to any local Chevy dealer and the maintenance cost would not be so bad. A GT-R, well, how many Nissan dealers do you think have a certified GT-R tech to work on it? And the cost will make you If you haven't already done so, read up on the maintenance cost for the GT-R. Pray nothing breaks outta warranty. But then again, the $ side may not be an issue with you and if that is the case, GT-R all the way!

Do you want AMERICAN Steak & taters or stir fry? Nissans parts replacement cost or through the roof on that car. If you decide for the asain feast make sure you look at a carfax and or have it throughly checked out (something smells a lil fishy) Carfax can be overcome...

The car was apparently featured in the SEMA show and DUB magazine as well as several others. It also comes with the factory 36k miles bumper to bumper warranty and 60k mile powertrain warranty...

I would go over to here

http://www.nagtroc.org/forums

with VIN and such...

Ask them.. They're in far better a position to answer questions on this car than most people here......

I know of some people with these.... you need to be very, very careful if you pick up a used one..

Take the car to a certified Nissan dealer, and have them scan it to see if the warranty is still in effect. If the VDC has been switched off and the car launched hard, you may have issues. The other thing to consider is if you can deal with the high maintenance costs. If those two things check out with you, hell yeah, pick that thing up. It's an amazing car.

I was under the impression that the 2009 GTR had a "delicate" transmission and that the use of launch control basically voided the warranty.

I would be afraid to get a GTR that is within a couple of models years of its initial release.
