It's pretty obvious the purpose of this section is for Camaro owners to discuss other cars that would otherwise clog up the other sections that pertain specifically to the Camaro; it says nothing nor implies anything about inviting the owners of the other car they're discussing.

The 11 gt500 had trouble hooking up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when randy did the comparo test with it and the z06/gtr. It kept spinning 1 tire on corner exit.

The Torsten, double adjustable shocks, and aforementioned gearing, tcs, and lc will easily get the gt500 around a track much faster than a boss.

Now also factor the '13 has huge braking upgrades, and no less than 112 more hp... Plus a carbon driveshaft that helps tremendously with accel/decel physics and static acceleration. The car has plenty of go fast updates.

It also has more downforce and better lift control. In short I could go on for another 500 words but the 2013 has more than enough go fast parts to surpass a boss and likely close that ~2 second gap between the zl1/boss.

Now how easy the common driver can exploit these beasts? The zl1 wins but that's to be expected. Pro vs pro, I think the savage gt500 does have the tools to have an edge but it's a matter of having the guts to manhandle a 662hp solid axel car right to its limits without mrc to ease the burden of undulations and unforgiving surfaces.
On a tight technical track I'd take the Boss. Anything with a long straight, I'd take the GT500. Depending on the track the Horsepower or balance can shine.

The boss will almost always be more rewarding to drive than the gt500 but the gt500 will pretty much always be faster irregardless of the track. Mt's figure 8 are as small a track as you can get and the numbers have spoken.

I'd love an na option on the gt500 that gets you 550hp without the blower but that's not gonna happen this gen sadly.

Now the boss needs to catch up but the IRS setups in 2 years will get these cars way ahead.

Excited.

Boss 351 anybody? 550hp na with gt500 chassis and the new irs with a 3.73 gear ftmfw.

Please keep in mind. We've had a rash of GT500 guys on here that have been chest thumping/trolling. I'd hate to see you lumped in that group.

With all due respect to the beast that is the GT500, this is a Camaro forum.

FWIW.

oh boy, here we go again.

The boss handled better, but that gap has gotten smaller and the gt500's advantages from before (brakes and power) have just gotten much greater. Don't forget, road courses are made up of turns AND straights. Also keep in mind that Ford stated they were revising the gt500 because the Boss was too close, I wouldn't bet on the Boss in anything but autocross really.
No, I would not expect the GT500 to outrun a Boss on a road course, unless there were a lot of long straightaways.

If the old GT500 was so close if not still faster at some tracks the new one is gonna be alot faster than the boss unless we are talking a very small track. The old 500 was shown to be better around a few tracks than the CTS-V coupe that we share so much with and it sure seems like we are not even putting up Ctsv numbers yet in the Z. New 500 I'm afraid is gonna put bus lengths on us GM boys. I'm sure the magazines will find a small track to compare the two or three if they include the boss to keep it close. Anything with a 150mph back straight then it's gonna be a slaughter.

I would love to see a magazine do a full spread with the Zl1, Z06, BOSS, 12 GT500 and new 13 500. Sea level track, 75 degree day, same driver to really see how these cars compare. I know the lighting lap does this put its so many cars and little time with each. Do a best of GM and best of Ford. Would be a good read if you ask me.

But why bother? The troll calling out on here is as immature as the trolling in the first place. I'm not sure a lot of people here are mature enough to drive anything without training wheels. Bloody children, the lot of you.
