51k Miles.....Tune???

Have almost 52k miles on my 11. Car is a 6sp man, axleback with mag res. X-pipe, CAI and ported TB. Runs like a bat out of hail in the winter when the air is cold. I can feel the decrease in warm weather. The car is now out of warranty, should I get a tune? What are the dangers? Don't want to do anything to aggrivate the shiddy timing chains. How much HP can I expect, can I detune and retune on demand. Just don't want to hurt it because it does currently run really good but why settle for less when I can fasterer.

Look up OVerkill motorsports LFx tuning. He does do the LT also via HPT and is free retunes for life. He has a few v6s with mods boastigs 300+ at the wheels

These things knock like crazy on the stock tune. Will is the man when it comes to tuning these cars. He might actually make the car safer to run, and not rely on the knock sensors to pull timing after it detonates wrong. He'll get it running right from the start.

I seriously wonder if thats what causes the motor to go back so quickly?

Between the valves getting caked up and forcing them to knock more, and the engines having double-digit KR stock, I would bet that it seriously has a lot to do with it.

I wish I didn't wait so long to start tuning with Will. After I scanned my stock tune and ran logs, it was scary how bad it was.

Few years ago we ran 93 in the wife's LLT forms few weeks before we were doing some testing of parts with Tampa tuning (thread is on the board). Thing still knocked like crazy with 93 in it.

I ran exclusively 93 since I purchased the car with only 33 miles on the odometer. Thing was knocking like crazy on 93, the tune just seems to want the knock sensors to do all of the adjustments.

I really think tuning these things are a great idea. Pull some timing away from it, let it be safer and not just let the knock dictate the tuning.
