launch control stopped working. help?

hello C5

recently the launch control has stopped working in my 2010 camaro SS

it works well in the street with drag radials.

is it possible that its associated with the stability control system?

there would be at times where im in the highway in 3rd gear around 70mph and have the engine during some load, and on the DIC screen would display "service stabilitrack" system, and a engine light would pop up also with the traction and stability lights on.

after a while when i go into 6th gear it goes away.
last time it left a po300 code :random misfire. i checked all ignintion related components and found no misfire after.

what would be the cause ?

is this related.

ps. the launch control wont activate it would just rev to redline. (i am doing the procedure correctly because i tried the method with another camaro and the LC would work)

thanks!

Launch control, stabbilitrac will be affected by that random misfire code you have. Fix the code via tune or repairing the actual problem and both launch control and stabilitrac with function as they should.

Launch control and stabilitrac are dependent of an engine running on all cylinders. If you are having an issue with misfires in the cylinders the computer cannot compensate and adjust timing or fuel because of the engine issue first. I kept it pretty simple and hope it makes sense.

Bad wires or spark plugs are the most likely cause.

Ted.
