previous owner did a cutout in the exhaust, what should i do?
what should i do to fix it, because the cutout sounds like a can when on idle.  also i have no engine check light but my remote starter is not working, what could it be?

Looks like an actuated cutout right? Keep them closed? Or are you saying the cutouts themselves are rattling?
As for remote start, I don't have an auto, but isn't there a setting in the DIC that turns this on and off?

Like Fran replied, redo the exhaust unless you want to keep the cutouts.

Cut outs
Put a nice cam in it You will love the performance and it should sound killer with the cut outs.

Yes the x-pipe will replace the stock exhaust and cutouts since you are putting headers and an x-pipe on your ZL1.

The exhaust looks like your car is running rich. Looks black/sooty in the pipes.
