Taillights turning on randomly?

My battery has recently been dying over the last couple months and I've been trying to figure out why. I've found that even when my car is off or has been sitting for any amount of time, the taillights may turn on by themselves randomly. Just the taillights. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it. I can't reproduce it either. It's totally random.
Is there a fuse or a relay that may be bad?
If it matters, my stabilitrak lights turn on if I happen to be driving it, sort of as a warning the battery will die overnight

I believe so. Alternator works as it should, voltage never goes outside of the normal range

Check the grounds, check for looseness and especially look for rust on the bottom of the trunk ground screw as the shank threads are exposed to the road surface. Also see post 119 in this thread about a battery cable service bulletin for certain 2010s https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showt...t=20287&page=9

Post back once you find & fix the problem. Good luck

Thanks. I'll take a look at the grounds later. I'll look at the positive cable too described in the bulletin. I've never had a problem getting it to start, until recently due to something causing the battery to drain completely, and the taillights randomly turning on

Another thought… are they the stock taillights? Any sequential adapter attached?
BTW there is no taillight fuse. The taillights and reverse lights are all part of a harness.

No sequential. I have Oracle Afterburners, installed them in March of last year, they're wired properly. I did notice the last time I caught the taillights staying on (the bulbs not the led strips) was when I unplugged the harness, and plugged it back in, they lit right back up. Few seconds later they turned off and then back on again. No other lights where on. They shut off and stayed off when I turned the dail inside the car on and off. Turning the dial doesn't always mean they'll stay off though.. Might that mean something is causing them to light up when they shouldn't?

Think that might be what's causing it? I was able to test the brakes once when the taillights were still on, and they got brighter

I would recheck wiring and any other switches/equipment that make the aftermarket lights work. Anytime you change from stock, you open the door for new issues. Not saying you did it wrong but, worth the effort to double check that something didn’t change since your installation. At least you can rule that out, if it checks out.

I'll check the wiring too when I can.
There's gotta be something that is being triggered to give them power when they should remain off. There's no relay or fuse or anything that could falsely trigger them to turn on?
A couple times when the battery died, before I realized the lights were turning on randomly, my stabilitrak lights turned on, on a few occasions. I scanned for codes and quite a few came up. I scanned on different dates, I can list the codes if anyone thinks it has anything to do with it?

You mentioned your battery is fairly new but, you think something is drawing it down. Very common when the battery is going out for the stabilitrak light to come on.
