ACS Undertray..Needed?

I am getting ready to buy an ACS ZL1 Splitter, but I see something about an undertray, that you can get with it.

Is it needed or worth getting?

I dont race or track, I just have Fun in mine! lol

I occasionally will hit some high speeds and dont want to fly off or anything, I read it will make the splitter, more solid and stiffer. But not whether it is needed.

If not needed then I would rather use the $$, on some other mods.

Thanks in advance!

It appears they don’t frequent the forum based on last log in of 10-10-2019. That surely doesn’t mean they don’t visit without logging in.

Did you contact them at sales@acscomposite.com with the same outcome?

I have no issues with them!

They answered my questions, so I am/was thanking them!

Great Customer Service, if anyone has questions for them, I would advise going direct, to them, for any information!

That’s great feedback. I want to purchase some aesthetic items from them. Thanks for your input.

As per ACS...
You do, NOT, need the, Undertray, Unless you are using your Camaro, for racing or tracking.

For regular or Daily driving, the Splitter is all you need.

Hope this helps!

I just purchased the ZL1 Aeropack kit to include the undertray. I purchased it last Friday and I received an email that it was shipped out yesterday (Monday). That is what I call quick service. I was told the splitters were on backorder and it would take a few weeks, so I was surprised to get that email. Customer service has been awesome though. I went with the undertray, since it was not much more to add it and it would help to strengthen the splitter and give a smooth transition underneath, since the splitter is open design underneath. I think it will help keep the air from getting up underneath it and putting stress on the splitter while even driving at even highway speeds. I do not intend to race or track my Camaro. But yes, the splitter can be used without the need for the undertray.

I had one and I think the splitter is not finished without the under tray. The splitter has a leading edge that is about 3/4". The under tray boxes this in. I ran mine up on a tree rout, when I backed off it left many chips in the very bottom edge but did not break it. It is tough.

I didn't care for how the under tray had to be installed as I had to modify the stock under tray. I also got the winglets that didn't fit at all. They did refund money for the winglets. But the under tray had nothing to attach to on the outer corners without winglets or something.

I bet they have it fixed by now. They didn't act like they knew what was going on at the install end a year ago when I installed mine. Good luck.

I removed it and now have a 2nd generation GM splitter that I like better.
