23 1SS 1LE OR USED 2019 ZL1??

I have a 23 1ss 1LE in transit on it's way and now I've found a lightly used 2019 ZL1 for sale at a local dealer. I'm at odds, do I go with the new car or what I initially wanted. Financing seems like the only hurdle do to it being a 2019. I'm going to check it out tonight..

Go with the 2019 zl1, all time Camaro, you won’t lose as much in terms of percentage if you sell.

If you have a choice where the ZL1 isn’t going to break the bank versus a 1LE and the ZL1 is in nice condition then definitely get the ZL1.

4 MONTHS AT 1100 STATUS, DON'T SEE IT BEING PICKED UP AT ALL. I'M ALSO AN EMPLOYEE HERE SO I COULD SEE THEM GIVING THE ALLOCATION TO A CUSTOMER FIRST ANYWAYS. I HAVEN'T CANCELLED IT JUST INCASE BUT I'LL KNOW TONIGHT IF THE 2019 ZL1 IS LEGIT.

I have owned both. The ZL1 is great but I would stick with the 1LE. On the street the extra ZL1 power is not really usable. Assuming M6 on both, the shorter gearing in the 1LE are more fun, 1LE wheels and red calipers look better IMO. You also get the hood wrap and better looking blade spoiler. 4 year newer car and full warranty coverage.

If you are itching to experience the ZL1 power I get it but the sweet spot for price/performance is the 1LE.

ZL1 is an auto but I totally understand your reasoning and it's what I'm thinking about right now. I really wanted a ZL1 so I'll see what happens and I'll report back.

What transmission is in the 1LE you have ordered?

My ZL1 had the A10. Great trans, lighting quick shifts, etc. but if you really want a manual then consider carefully. If you think you will miss the rowing of the gears then don't settle for the A10. You lose a lot of driving engagement.

I am driving a CT4-V Blackwing now with Tremec M6. I find it more fun than the ZL1 A10, even being down 200hp.

I actually had a 1LE 1SS on order last year but then I found a new ZL1 A10 at a dealer and bought it off the lot for $500 under MSRP. I enjoyed it and got the LT4 power out of my system but if I were to do it over again I would have stuck with the 1LE. Best bang for the buck, period...

However, if you only plan to own it for a relatively short time then you may reduce your depreciation hit by purchasing the used ZL1, depending on the price of course.

My 2021 MSRP was $67,800 and got $64,000 on trade, so pretty strong for a 2 year old car.

I’m now the proud owner of a 2019 ZL1, red seat belts and cf hood insert, fully loaded and getting her ceramic coated. Exactly what I wanted.

The 1LE was a manual but I’m happy with this car.
