Let's talk Z28 suspension kit from Chevy performance parts

Ok I need to see if any one has pulled the trigger on this set up. I'm thinking about doing it on my 2013 1LE. The car right now is set up with pedders super car coilovers , rear sway, subframe insert bushings, caster camber plates and frt. strut / radius arm bushings. The car drives great , rides awesome and I can dial it in just about anyway I want. The main thing I'm looking to know about the z28 kit is over all ride height , and ride quality . This is the kit I'm thinking about doing.

I wonder how well this suspension would be on a car that doesn't have the same tires/wheels the Z/28 has? One would think GM "tuned" the suspension with the Z/28 tire combo as a complete system. I can't see it working to the same level as a Z/28 on a different set of tires and wheels. Any opinions from suspension experts?

I'm not worried about the wheel and tire setup, I have the 1le set for daily driving , I have a set of 19 coming for autocross / road course events , and a set of welds for the drag strip .

The Ultimate track SS uses the 1LE wheels setup with these.
They've promote it at SEMA...

Chevy Performance also had the Ultimate Track SS Camaro at PRI and I got to spend a significant amount of time talking to a Camaro Design Engineer. The key to the Z/28 suspension package is the Multimatic DSSV Dampers and springs. He claimed that he has received feedback that installing a set of the DSSV Dampers and springs on a Camaro that previously had coilovers made the car work better on track. Primarily due to the DSSV Dampers being tuned for the weight and balance of the car. If I remember correctly he told me the springs are pretty stiff and they went with smaller diameter sway bars.
I have the Pedders Perma-grin kit on my 1LE and he felt I would see major improvements in the handling with the Z/28 kit and the ZL1/1LE wheels.

I did install this kit. It lowered the suspension by about an inch on the top of shorter diameter wheels. Unlike aftermarket units, it did not change the camber range, though.

I saw your build thread a few days ago, I didn't see a firm number on ride height, but if its about 1'' I should be happy with that. I pulled the trigger last week and should see the parts next week sometime.

If I recall correctly the 19" wheels is what lowered the z28 an inch not the actual suspension.

Could you measure the height from the top of the wheel well to the bottom of the wheel for reference, front and back? I like being lowered an inch with coil overs, but if the Z/28 suspension itself lowers the car that would be great.

Has anybody installed just specific parts from the z28 kit like lower control arm for example instead of aftermarket ?

I took before/after height measurements of suspension height from hub center to the fender, which does not get impacted by wheel height differences, and there is about 1" difference. This is on the top of height drop due to wheel diameter. GM advertises a 33mm drop anyway, which is more than what you get due to wheel diameter difference (~.8").

According to GM's website, the height of the Z/28 is 52.40". The SS is 54.20". Pretty significant drop just for tires. Difference of 1.8", .8" for tires and 1" for suspension makes sense.
