It's sad that I spent $68k on a Stingray and it so hard to get a status of your order. I buy a $5 phone case from Ebay and get constant emails from them on the order status without asking.

I would not use the word sad. Now, if one ordered 12,000 $5 items and none of them updated w/ status changes, that would be sad. Of course the next question becomes: how does one keep up with status changes on 12,000 items? Draft ones friends and neighbors to assist in keeping up!
I admit I am being extreme, but I maintain not too extreme. I believe there are 3000 retail sold pre-orders (based on nothing more than my guess; I previously maintained there were 7,500 5th Gen Camaro retail sold pre-orders, so if anyone knows what the actual numer turned out to be, that person can figure if I might be right regarding the Stingray). So we have 1500 built and 1500 waiting to be built customer orders, a few of whom, not more than 90% I amsure, actively seeking status updates, some more than twice every four hours! And we are surprised that the effort to track is rendered difficult! Not just surprised, but angry and hostile! Could GM do better? Maybe. It is a fine line being open and transparent and allowing competitors to figure out what is going on. And this is not a regular problem. It comes up with the intro of every new generation Corvette and Camaro and seems to not with every introduction of any other GM vehicle with the possible exception of the Volt, which has 1,000 avid customers both before production began and since production has been underway. My two cents. Laborsmith |

Both vehicles have been produced. Please be aware that we have shipped a number of Corvettes to the national rail head in Nashville, TN, for a final quality review of each car prior to being shipped to dealers. This final review is part of our standard procedures for a launch. As we indicated in the press release, we have built nearly 1000 Stingrays, and we are using facilities in Nashville to expedite the process. Once the review for each vehicle is completed, the vehicle will be shipped directly from Nashville to the dealer. We do not have an estimate we can share on the amount of time a particular vehicle will spend in Nashville. Please understand our number one priority is to deliver the greatest, highest quality Corvette Stingray -- to every dealer, to every customer, every time. We appreciate your patience and recognize the high amount of anticipation for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. |

From GM Sept. 19th press Release:
Chevrolet.com Order Tracking System An issue was discovered late last week that the Order Tracking system on the Owner's Center within Chevrolet.com was not providing accurate information to customers with Corvette Stingray order numbers. Customers who now visit the site will receive a message indicating the site is unavailable. The customer will also be prompted to send an email to faq@chevrolet.com for order inquiries. The emails will be answered by a select team of customer assistance specialists who will be able to provide the latest vehicle tracking information. It will not be instantaneous, but it should ensure proper ordering and shipping expectations are being provided to the customer and dealer. This process only applies to Corvette Stingray orders, and the system continues to be available for tracking of all other Chevrolet orders. |

I got a reply from faq@chevrolet.com today:
Thank you for contacting Chevrolet regarding your 2014 Corvette Stingray order. We apologize for the delay in our response. We have received a large number of inquiries since Wednesday s shipment announcement. We are working as hard as we can to provide the latest updates. As of September 20, 2013, the status of Order Number RDTH9B is the following: This vehicle has been produced. We do not have an estimate we can share on the amount of time a particular vehicle will spend in Nashville, or when it will arrive at a specific dealership. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your patience. Please understand our number one priority is to deliver the greatest, highest quality Corvette Stingray -- to every dealer, to every customer, every time. We appreciate your patience and recognize the high amount of anticipation for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. Thank you for contacting Chevrolet! Sincerely, The Chevrolet Marketing Team |

The track your order site never worked in real time. As I have expressed on several occasions, it is NOT and NEVER has been a worthwhile endeavor.
Could Chevy do better? You betcha! Will they? When pigs fly. Not a pig in a commercial but two or more in real time. Between Track My Order and OnStar I can not choose which I like the most. Laborsmith |

Why the hate for Onstar?
I've never had any issues with them, just curious what happened. |

We don't have a date of when or if the site tracker will be back up and running. As soon as we have more information, we'll get it to you guys! In the meantime, please continue to track through your dealer, our chat and phone agents. Of course shoot a message on here for an update as well. Marissa Chevrolet Customer Care |

RE: Nashville
My Z51 SR has been at the Nashville Railhead for two weeks with no further info available from Customer Care ..... The irony being my dealer is 187 miles due South down I65 from Bowling Green. Production number 1252. The real frustration is not being able to get any update status or forecast. |

One of the updates you desire, just why in Nashville, Chevy does not officially admit. We can figure out the likely reason and some times a specific reason but that is it. I do agree that Chevy could therefore should be more forthcoming. Maybe someday but apparently not today.
