2022 C&D Lightning Lap Results are in!

Lightning Lap 2022: The Hottest Cars on America's Toughest Track

https://www.caranddriver.com/feature...ning-lap-2022/

This year we spread 21 "cars" over five drivers—three of whom were on staff in 2006, though not driving in that first year. As always, if there's a vehicle missing from the group, either we've already tested it or the carmaker couldn't supply a car or didn't want to play. Some car*makers like to play, though, and this year there were at least 20 people from car and tire manufacturers replacing tires and making sure their entries were performing at their best.

No Camaros this year, but the CT4-V BW and CT5-V BW presented pretty well. Also the ever increasing amount of performance CUV's is getting more and more notable. Along with the ever decreasing number of performance vehicles that are presented with a manual option.

Here are the historical Standings 2006-2022:

The Mach 1 putting a better lap up than the GT350R surprised me a bit.

With VIR GC being just over 4mi. I wonder how many tenths could have been knocked off of that time with the 10-speed.

Congrats to ford. 3 seconds is a lot on track. Chevy still wins on price though.
