Yep, an M6 1LE will run the quarter in about 12.3 whereas an LT1 will run it in about 12.2.
I should of not used plural in the definition, and I was going on second hand information from him, I rode in the car couple years ago , and didn't notice , I should of not added that information my fault, I will delete that from my post .

The LT1 for straight line is a really nice setup. I think you can fit a 16” wheel in the back

1LE for that type of look handling and leather

LT1 can have leather too as an option

So, I sold my C7 Z06 to get my TT RS. Admittedly, it was a very difficult transition at first. I absolutely loved my Z06 but, I got a hell of an offer on it and decided to move on to the Audi. In stock form, they're pretty comfortable and plenty capable for what they are. It takes an almost disgustingly small amount of mods to make them formidably quick if that's your thing. The S4 and S5 are nice cars that are certainly more luxury oriented than they are performance oriented. Nonetheless, I haven't run into a single problem with either of my Audi's and would generally recommend them to people who are looking for a nice vehicle and are willing to keep up on maintenance. Also, I fit better in my TT RS than I did in my C7 Z06. However, I don't fit in the RS3 quite as well.

My M6 LT1 will be 4 years old soon, and to this very day, I still get a goofy smile on every WOT shift, just as I did when it was brand new.
That's awesome. I'm glad that you're still enjoying your car after four years. I still want to get a C5 or C6 Z06 at some point (which only come in a manual) but, I won't get them because I care about their performance, I'd want them just because I feel like they'd be fun to drive. Although I know I'd loathe the manual experience again. The ZL1 1LE just about set in stone my general dislike for front engine, RWD, manual vehicles. So if it's just a whatever car, then it really doesn't matter what the layout is.

TL;DR - LT1 +cost of tires/rims or 1SS.

First: think long about which front end you like more. If you seriously don't care, move on to step 2. If you think you might like the SS more, consider a regular 1SS.
Second: 1LE isnt built for drag and weighs more, and since you wouldn't see a road course, I wouldn't get it. Aero and ground effects you can buy OEM parts for less than MSRP afterwards, don't just get 1LE for looks. You're probably going to have to change the 1LE tires anyway.
Third: if you go LT1, you're definitely going to have to buy RIMs/tires so estimate that into the price of the LT1. Another advantage of buying the LT1 is you can option the technology package for relatively cheap.

In my situation, I liked the front end of the SS more so I had to have it. The price difference with no additional options from LT1 vs 1SS was around 3500 + 1k for copper free brakes (california) = 4500. I ultimately bought a 2SS because I think I would actually use/enjoy the interior bits more than the suspension/eDif (maybe ill regret this If I go to the track). The price of a 2SS with dual mode exhaust + brakes was still cheaper than a 1SS1LE.

If you're not subjet to the copper free brake nazis and like the SS front end, I'd pay the 3500 for the bigger brakes, driver screen, infotainment, cooling, and tires that are decent. I think its a good half way to the 1LE. Otherwise, LT1 is great and lightweight but budget for rims/tires.

LT1 Wheels

Is it important to change out the wheels to wider ones on the LT1? I am interested in low 0to60. Stock wheels are 245. Looking at new LT1. Is this a dealer upgrade option?

I would, even my 2SS with 275's out back could use more traction, I'm considering going with 1LE replica wheels and 305s when it is time for tires...

NO. All LT1's come with 245's all the way around. You can upgrade wheels (style) but you still get 20 x 8.5" wheels on all 4. If you want 9.5" rears you'll have to find some takeoffs in the same style (OEM wheels), or go aftermarket replicas. GM was smart on this one because if you could upgrade to wider wheels they'd be canibalizing their 1SS/2SS market. Same for not being able to upgrade an SS to ZL1 wheels, although less so since the SS cannot be had with an LT4, and that's really what people buy ZL1's vs. an SS for.

You're in HI so in theory you could just swap to summers on the 8.5" wheels, but you'll get more traction by also going to 275/285 (9.5-10" wheels).

yeah 245s even with summer tires is a joke, I had a G37S with way less torque (275ft/lb) and staggered 245 rear 19s were barely adequate. 275s did the job.
