Looking for some opinions from other experienced detailers. After the de-grime and clay, looking at the paint there aren't any swirl marks. Now I have a couple of scratched problem areas...these are the worse.....There are other places with small scratches (and example would be the rockers where I get in and out-this is picture 3 and there are other spots like this at a couple other various spots)....

So I learned a long time ago if it ain't really needed don't do it. So I was thinking I am only going to hit the bad spots with the correcting polish. Then use the finishing polish on the entire car.

Thoughts?

That's exactly what you want to do. Always use the least aggressive method you can to accomplish the goal.

Interesting marks, almost looks like marring from a really dirty towel or clay bar in the first picture.

If they don't catch your fingernail you can probably get rid of the majority of it. Hit it with some finishing polish and see where that gets you.

Was from a dirty shop towel when I got the oil changed

I don't expect them to come out 100%....just looking for improvement.

Taking today off....will start with the correction tomorrow.

I definitely think you will see an improvement if not full correction if it was a dirty shop towel.

So about 5 hours today. I hit the "bad spots" with the paint correction polish and the orange foam pads and used the paint finishing polish and white foam pads on the entire car.

First pic was the really bad spot with the scratches from the dirty shop towel.

Really bugs me how the back half of the car looks like a different color.

Looks great, try to get a sun shot or with the camera flash to see how well the correction went.

I will. It's just been so late when I have been getting done.

Tough to tell if it's partly because of the lighting, but that looks like two entirely different shades of white!!

Glad things are coming along nicely.
